The 15 Most Popular Wedding First Dance Songs

You and your fiancé agree on almost everything—which sushi rolls to order, what movie to see and what to name your dog (Oreo, duh).

But when it comes to choosing a first dance song for your wedding, you’re split. Perhaps some inspiration will help? Online suit rental site, The Black Tux, conducted a survey of 900 married couples asking what their first dance song of choice was and shared the top 15 songs. Ranging from mainstream hits to classic oldies, at least one of these tunes will be sure to induce some “awwwws” from the dance floor. Better start practicing your moves…

The Millennial Wedding Trend We Keep Seeing That Baby Boomers Hate

1. “unchained Melody” By The Righteous Brothers

There’s just something about those opening “Oh my love,” lyrics that grabs you by the heart and makes you nostalgic for a decade you probably never even lived in.

2. “all Of Me” By John Legend

Channel some John Legend and Chrissy Teigen relationship goals with this swoony serenade.

3. “i Don’t Want To Miss A Thing” By Aerosmith

This song may conjure storylines about dads and fiancés rocketing to space to drill into an asteroid that’s about to hit earth…but the rock love song will always hold a special place in our (and Liv Tyler’s) heart.

4. “the Way You Look Tonight” By Frank Sinatra

The dress, the hair, the makeup—Frank has a valid point.

5. “at Last” By Etta James

Have there ever been sweeter lyrics written than “At last my love has come along / My lonely days are over and life is like a song”? We think not.

6. “amazed” By Lonestar

A little bit country, a little bit pop.

7. “my Best Friend” By Tim Mcgraw

A lotta bit country.

8. “your Song” By Elton John

“Don't have much money but boy if I did / I'd buy a big house where we both could live.” We love the aspirational, loving lyrics sung in this gorgeous tune by living legend Elton John.

9. “a Thousand Years” By Christina Perri

She may be a bit of a one-hit wonder, but this track will last—dare we say?—a thousand years.

10. “marry Me” By Train

When metaphors aren’t really your vibe, this song is literally a perfect pick.

11. “thinking Out Loud” By Ed Sheeran

With his smooth voice and romantic lyrics, we’re honestly surprised there aren’t more Ed Sheeran songs on this list.

12. “can’t Take My Eyes Off You” By Frankie Valli

For the couples who are thinking beyond the slow dance.

13. “can’t Help Falling In Love” By Elvis Presley

For the couples who are thinking only about the slow dance.

14. “make You Feel My Love” By Adele

Elvis may be the king, but Adele is our queen.

15. “i Won’t Give Up” By Jason Mraz

While we love this song, we find the lyrics more of a “let’s agree to not get divorced” anthem. But hey, the melody is pretty.
