Away

Everyone loves to talk about capsule wardrobes—aka a uniform of high-quality, long-lasting pieces—but we'd argue that a capsule luggage set is just as important. You may indeed reach for the baggage a lot less than, say, a basic T-shirt, but when you do, you should expect nothing less than first-class quality. Which is why Away's classic suitcases are a great choice when it comes to building a timeless luggage collection, even more so now that they've been re-released with a bunch of updates and upgrades. Not only are they available in seven new colors perfect for fall (Olive, Chili, Persimmon, Seafoam, Salt, Wave and Garnet), but they also boast a selection of new gloss finishes, along with fresh features like color-matched monochrome interiors and added underside grab handles that allow for even easier lifting.

Thanks to PureWow's wellness director, Sarah Stiefvater, we already know that the brand's Bigger Carry-On (from $335) stands up to the test of time and rigor of travel. "It’s held up beautifully through years of wear and tear—and I am *not* precious with my bags," she shared in a review of the suitcase. It doesn't hurt that it boasts a sleek and streamlined exterior you'll actually want to show off for years to come. And at 22.7 inches tall, 15.4 inches long and 9.6 inches deep, it also fits in most major airlines’ overhead bins.

With the redesign, it now has a color-matched interior (with lining and mesh made of recycled polyester) and a matching luggage tag (made of recycled leather). Not to mention the durable-yet-lightweight hard shell exterior, TSA-approved lock, genius packing compression system and now, *even more* pockets and a bigger complimentary laundry bag.

See Away's introduction of its redesigned classic luggage below.

Of course, the revamped collection includes several suitcases worth scooping up before your next trip, including the regular-sized Carry-On (from $315). It's a must for weekend warriors, but is also the ideal companion on longer trips. Here's why Marissa Wu, associate SEO editor of PureWow, loves it: "I've had my suitcase for five years, and aside from the scuffs, you wouldn't know...It's held up so well on transatlantic journeys [and] I can fit a week's worth of clothes in it (at least)."

The new-and-improved version has all the same features as the aforementioned Bigger Carry-On, including the *new* underside grab handle that makes transporting it a breeze. It's just a tad smaller than its carry-on counterpart, clocking in at 21.7 inches tall, 14.4 inches long and 9 inches deep.

If you're headed on a longer getaway, though, you may be more interested in The Medium Away suitcase (from $385), which should comfortably fit one- to two-weeks' worth of clothing), The Large (from $415), which holds more than two-weeks' worth of essentials, or the brand's newest (and roomiest) checked suitcase: The Trunk ($475). It carries nearly a month's worth of clothes and toiletries, per Away, equipped with extra capacity thanks to a slimmer top lid and deeper main compartment.

Whether you're starting small or going all-in on the whole line, these upgraded Away suitcases will have you ready to jet this fall—and a long time after. Capsule luggage collection, here you come.
