Not too long after Simone Biles responded to critics for posting negative comments about her hair on social media, the Olympic gold medalist posted yet another candid message on X (formerly Twitter), where she called out news reporters for asking this one question at the 2024 Paris Olympic press conferences.

According to E! News, Biles participated in a press conference following her third gold medal win at this year’s Olympic Games. During the Q&A, the 27-year-old athlete was asked about her future plans after making history at the 2024 Paris Olympics. However, this particular question didn’t sit quite well with the gymnast. So, Biles took to X to share her thoughts.

On August 4, she posted a tweet that read, “You guys really gotta stop asking athletes what’s next after they win a medal at the Olympics.” In a separate tweet, Biles also wrote, “Let us soak up the moment we’ve worked our whole lives for.”

And the decorated gymnast couldn’t be more right. Whether you’re an athlete or not, we should have a chance to celebrate our wins, no matter how big or small. For Biles—who placed first in the women’s gymnastics individual vault final, won gold in the individual all-around competition and helped Team USA place first in the Women’s Gymnastics Final—all she wants to do is take a beat and relish in her historic Olympics wins. Can we all give her (in addition to other athletes) a moment to bask in their victory before asking them “So, what’s next?”

On August 3, Biles took part in another press conference and teased her Olympics future. When asked if she could see herself competing in the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles, the gold medalist said, “Never say never. The next Olympics is at home, so you just never know.” And she jokingly added, “But I am getting really old.”
