It’s official: Nina Dobrev and Shaun White are going to the chapel.
Today, the Vampire Diaries alum revealed that White has been upgraded from “boyfriend” to “fiancé.” Dobrev announced the engagement on social media by posting a slideshow of photos from the intimate proposal.
The first photo showed White holding Dobrev in the air shortly after he popped the question. It's followed by candid portraits of the couple celebrating the happy news. The pics may be blurry, but their love for each other is wildly evident.
The caption read, “RIP boyfriend, hello fiancé [ring emoji] [infinity emoji].”
White shared a similar slideshow on his Instagram page, but his post included a picture of him kneeling in front of Dobrev and another of the duo drinking champagne.

Dobrev also revealed exclusive details about the engagement with Vogue magazine. According to the mag, the proposal took place in New York City at the Golden Swan restaurant. White created a fake invite to fool Dobrev into thinking she was attending a CFDA/Vogue dinner with Anna Wintour.
“He made the invite look so legitimate,” Dobrev said. “He said all the right things.”
Instead of dinner, the professional snowboarder got down on one knee and presented her with a five-carat diamond. “I went into shock,” Dobrev added. “I just froze and stared at him.”
