Let’s address a totally valid question in response to Rihanna’s pregnancy announcement: Is there a hidden meaning behind her pink ensemble?

This week, the 33-year-old singer confirmed that she’s expecting her first child with her beau, Rakim Mayers (A$AP Rocky). It all started when Rihanna stepped out for a stroll in a barely buttoned coat that exposed her growing baby bump. (See the pics here.)

Shortly after the news broke, fans started wondering if Rihanna wore the pink jacket to subtly hint that she’s expecting a girl. In addition to the puffer coat, RiRi also sported a light pink manicure, which only fueled the gossip.

Unfortunately, Rihanna hasn’t shared any details about her surprise pregnancy, like the gender or due date. So, for now, the baby girl whispers are strictly rumors.

It didn’t take long for outlets (like PopSugar) to track down the long pink puffer coat, which is a Chanel by Karl Lagerfeld design. But this isn’t any ordinary jacket that you can find at your local flagship store. In fact, it’s from Chanel’s 1996 fall/winter collection, making it a vintage staple. Although the exact style isn’t available online, Us Weekly estimates it to be worth around $10,000. (Psst, Amazon has a similar version with prices starting at $80.)

Rihanna first wore the coat earlier this week during a snowy walk through Harlem with A$AP Rocky. With the jacket unbuttoned, the singer’s baby bump was clearly visible, and she accentuated it by draping a long golden necklace over it.
