It’s no secret that Meghan Markle is struggling to adjust to her new role as Prince Harry’s wife. While many believe the royal couple are considering a permanent hop across the pond, our expert says otherwise.
Here’s what you need to know: Several tabloids recently claimed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex could potentially move to North America—like the U.S. or Canada—in an attempt to escape ongoing scrutiny.
While we’re admittedly giddy about the possibility of spotting a royal in the wild, we recently sat down for an exclusive interview with Kaitlin Menza (royal expert and co-host of the podcast Royally Obsessed), who revealed that it’s unlikely.
“I really don’t see it happening,” she said. “I was intrigued to hear Harry discuss his desire to live in South Africa during the recent documentary, but he admitted to the difficulties it would pose to their work. The U.S. offers very different difficulties than South Africa, of course. But as a British royal who undergoes sometimes thrice-weekly charitable visits around the U.K., I don’t know how he could live across the pond.”
