In honor of the premiere of the new trailer for The Color Purple, it seems only right for Oprah Winfrey, 69, to pull out her best purple outfit for the occasion.

After the trailer debut, the OWN founder shared a celebratory video on her personal Instagram account. The clip shows Winfrey (who starred in the original film) rocking a purple pantsuit with a pair of circular glasses to match.

The former talk show host stands in front of a wall of potential purple outfits (and how do we get invited to go clothes shopping with Oprah?!).

“I know you’ve seen the trailer, so I’m giving you six months to get your ‘fit together for opening day,” she says in the vid.

In the middle of the video, Winfrey walks over to the clothes hanging up and picks out a pair of purple pants and a knitted sweater. “What are you going to wear?” she cheekily asks the viewers before doing a happy dance and saying, “The color purple.”

Speaking of The Color Purple, the official trailer for the new musical adaption premiered yesterday. In the two-minute trailer, audiences had a chance to see the reimagined classic told in a brand-new way. The talented ensemble cast includes Halle Bailey, Fantasia Barrino, Taraji P. Henson, Corey Hawkins, Danielle Brooks, Colman Domingo and R&B singer H.E.R.

Be sure to mark your calendar because The Color Purple remake hits theaters everywhere on December 25, 2023.
