Olivia Munn is officially done feeling insecure about her scars.

On Wednesday, October 23, the actress, 44, took to social media to share some powerful images from her latest SKIMS campaign, proudly showcasing her mastectomy scar. Back in March, Olivia revealed that she had been battling breast cancer and underwent a double mastectomy after being diagnosed in April 2023.

Alongside the four-photo carousel, Munn wrote, “In the middle of this latest @SKIMS campaign shoot, I decided I was done being insecure about my mastectomy scars. Every mark life has left behind on my body is proof of how hard I fought. I hope other women who have been self-conscious about their scars see these photos and feel all the love I’m sending.”

The New Girl alum added that "it’s meaningful" to be part of a campaign that supports research and helps those affected by breast cancer. SKIMS is even donating a portion of their bra sales to the Susan G. Komen organization.

Naturally, I had to check out the comments section, and it was all about support for Olivia’s inspiring move.

One person wrote, “For all the scar girlies, thank you.” Another shared, “Thank you for doing this for all of us. I avoid the mirror after I shower, but you’re inspiring me to think differently.” And a third chimed in with, “I LOVE my lumpectomy scar!!! It’s a daily reminder of how rough & resilient I am!!!!”

“You’re beautiful regardless. Scars only show character built by struggle,” another comment read. And one user summed it up perfectly, writing, “THE SCARS ARE STRENGTH MAMA LIV.”

Even Kim Kardashian joined in on the love, reposting one of Munn's photos to her Instagram story with a simple, “Hell yeah.”

It’s almost hard to believe that sharing her scar wasn’t even part of the original plan.

On Wednesday’s episode of the Today Show, Munn further explained, “It was just to do their shapewear and their new leggings and it wasn’t about my scar at all.”

But things shifted when the makeup artist mentioned it would be “really hard” to cover the scar. In that moment, the mom-of-two decided to embrace her journey.

“I was looking in the mirror, and I just thought, ‘I’m done being insecure about my scars.’ So I went to the SKIMS team and said, ‘What do you guys think about showing my scars in this campaign?’ They were so amazing and thoughtful and wonderful. And we talked it out and decided to do it,” she recalled.
