Netflix's Fake Countdown Will Trick Your Kids Out of Staying Up Until Midnight

fuller house christmas special

Fact: It’s no easy task convincing a child that staying up until midnight on New Year’s Eve isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. So, if you’re looking to prevent the tantrum before it begins, feast your eyes on the best fake countdown we never knew we needed.

Netflix is releasing a slew of new, prerecorded videos on Wednesday, December 26. Each clip ends with a countdown to New Year’s Eve, which means you can start one of the specials at 7 p.m. and sneakily celebrate when the kids go to bed long before midnight.

The countdowns will feature characters from Netflix’s most popular children’s shows, including Alexa and Katie, Pinky MalinkyMotown MagicLarva Island, Super Monsters, Boss Baby, Fuller House and more.

Lying to the kids? Guilty. Watching the ball drop in peace and quiet? Priceless.
