Nancy Drew Gets the ‘Riverdale’ Treatment in This New CW Trailer

Another day, another teen mystery to get a little too wrapped up in.

On the heels of the success of Riverdale, the CW is adapting another young-people-fight-crime story for the silver screen: Nancy Drew

Inspired by the classic novel series written by a number of authors under the collective pseudonym Carolyn Keene, the series will star Kennedy McMann as young sleuth Drew, and will debut on the CW on Wednesdays this coming fall. (Yes, that's the same night as Riverdale—clear your schedule.)

According to the network's official description of the series, "Devastated by her mother’s passing, Nancy swears off crime-solving while crossing off the days until she can re-apply to college. But when a socialite is murdered, Nancy finds herself a prime suspect in the crime, along with a group of other teens present at the scene...The five of them must team up to clear their own names—encountering emotional entanglements and even more mysteries along the way."

The series is executive produced by alums of series like The Vampire Diaries and Gossip Girl, to give you an idea of what to expect, drama-wise.

Check out the trailer above, which is dark and moody and features lines like "In a case like this, you have to look to the husband."
