Kate Middleton didn’t waste any time demonstrating her parenting skills at Trooping the Colour.
Today, the royal family attended the annual Trooping the Colour celebration. After the parade, they gathered on the Buckingham Palace balcony for the Royal Air Force fly-past. At one point, Princess Catherine went into parenting mode when she brushed the hair from Prince Louis's face.
It was a sweet and subtle moment between the royal mom and her youngest child. During the flypast, certain photos showed Prince Louis squinting into the sky, and clearly his mom wanted to make sure that he could see the spectacle clearly.
Also, if you remember correctly from last year's Trooping the Colour, the tiny prince did not react too well to the loud sounds of the aircrafts during the flypast. So, Princess Catherine may have performed this action as a way to soothe her son as well.
The Princess of Wales (41) attended Trooping the Colour alongside her husband, Prince William (40) and their three children, Prince George (9), Princess Charlotte (8) and Prince Louis (5). Other attendees included King Charles (duh) and his wife, Camilla Parker Bowles.
This isn’t the first time Princess Catherine has shown off her parenting skills. In fact, she often uses her go-to move, which involves bending down to meet children at eye-level. The power shift can foster open communication and create a comfortable environment for kids. The duchess has used it on her own children, as well as people she meets in public.
Trooping the Colour holds a special meaning to the British royal family because the annual event serves as King Charles’s second birthday celebration. Although he was born on November 14, the monarch also has a celebratory birthday in June (aka Trooping the Colour).
