Jordan Peele Releases Final ‘Nope’ Trailer & We Finally Know What’s Going on (Sort of)

Throughout the decades, we've seen the names Wes Craven, John Carpenter, Alfred Hitchcock and many more attached to some of the best horror films of all time, and in recent years, Jordan Peele has quickly established himself as one of the masters of the genre.

So far, Peele has two directing credits under his belt, with Get Out and Us (both of which scored over 90% on Rotten Tomatoes and grossed over $200 million in theaters, we might add). Now, Peele is back with Nope, his newly-directed film that stars major names like Daniel Kaluuya, Keke Palmer and Steven Yeun.

Before the 2022 Super Bowl officially kicked off, Peele released the first trailer for Nope. While the teaser gave us little to no insight into the plot, we did learn that Keke Palmer and David Kaluuya’s characters are horse trainers from Hollywood. But things soon take a turn for the worse after a mysterious cloud appears. There is a new foe in town—but it is kind of unclear on what (or who) it is.

Now, another trailer has been released (watch above) and we finally get some answers as to what is happening. In the new trailer, Palmer and Kaluuya’s characters want to capture a video of a UFO flying across their property. So, they hatch a plan to get live footage of the aliens. But, things seem to go horribly wrong, resulting in utter chaos throughout the small town.

Along with Kaluuya, Palmer and Yeun, Nope will also feature Barbie Ferreira (Euphoria), Brandon Perea (The OA) and Michael Wincott (Westworld).

In addition to directing, Peele also wrote the screenplay and he handled production along with Ian Cooper. In 2018, Peele won the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay for his work on Get Out, so the anticipation is high for his latest project.

We will be counting down the days until July 22.
