Jennifer Aniston introduced the world to “The Rachel” haircut, but did you know the actress was rocking iconic hairstyles long before Friends?
Today, the Morning Show star celebrated her 56th birthday by sharing a never-before-seen childhood photo on Instagram. Although the photo is somewhat grainy, I couldn’t help but notice that Aniston’s hairstyle resembles a child-friendly version of the now-famous ’90s style (bangs included).
“Thank you for all the beautiful birthday wishes!” the caption read. “This kid is feeling very grateful and very loved.”
Followers filled the comments section with positive messages. One person wrote, “I love this little girl and the incredible woman she has become! I wish you all the best my love.” Another added, “Little Jen would be so proud of who she has become [red heart emoji] I hope you had the best day filled with love.”
Aniston first debuted the hairstyle in season one of Friends. The episode, titled “The One With the Evil Orthodontist,” aired in 1995 and jumpstarted the public’s obsession with the character’s now-signature style.
This isn’t the first time that Aniston has paid tribute to the iconic hairstyle. Back in January, the actress debuted a modern version of the iconic ‘do at the 2024 Golden Globes. She also revisited the famous cut while celebrating the birthday of her longtime hairstylist, Chris McMillan.
The Rachel haircut will never go out of style.
