Jennifer Aniston Reveals the Truth About That Viral Salad Recipe

If you're like us and you frequently scour the internet for the latest celebrity-approved recipe, then you may have come across the “Jennifer Aniston salad” that has been taking over TikTok. It was said that Aniston ate this specific meal every day for lunch while filming Friends, and it was also apparently a favorite of her co-stars, Courteney Cox and Lisa Kudrow. However, in a new interview with Shape, Aniston revealed that the recipe that's been circulating all over social media is not in fact what she ate.

“I'm sorry, I feel like I'm disappointing everybody, but that's not my salad,” Aniston told the publication. “It looks delicious, but it's not the salad that I had on Friends.”

The recipe that has been spreading across the internet (seen below) includes bulgar, red onions, parsley, mint, pistachios, chickpeas and feta cheese (with lemon juice, olive oil and kosher salt to top it off). However, Aniston revealed that her salad was “totally different” and featured none of these ingredients.

Aniston told Shape that in fact, her salad included “shredded lettuce, chicken, egg whites, a couple of garbanzo beans, bacon, and a basic vinaigrette.” Apparently, the Friends actress would also top it off with pecorino cheese from a local Italian restaurant.

Back in 2010, Courteney Cox was asked by the Los Angeles Times what her favorite ritual was on Friends, and she responded, “Jennifer [Aniston] and Lisa [Kudrow] and I ate lunch together every single day for 10 years. And we always had the same thing—a Cobb salad. But it wasn’t really a Cobb salad. It was a Cobb salad that Jennifer doctored up with turkey bacon and garbanzo beans and I don’t know what. She just has a way with food, which really helps. Because if you’re going to eat the same salad every day for 10 years, it’d better be a good salad, right?”

While it's unclear how this different recipe came to be attributed to Aniston, we're just glad the actress has set the record straight (and now we've got two different salad recipes to try).
