The shocking This Is Us revelation that Uncle Nick is actually alive was music to our ears. And when we saw who was chosen to play the Big Three’s long-lost uncle, we were even more excited.
Griffin Dunne, the newest(ish) member of the Pearson family, looks familiar for several reasons, primarily because he’s writer Joan Didion’s nephew and directed her recent documentary, Joan Didion: The Center Will Not Hold. But that’s not the only reason he may have caught your eye.
Dunne has been acting since his first role in the biopic romance The Other Side of the Mountain in 1975. Since then, he’s appeared in such films as Dallas Buyers Club and Ocean’s Eight, as well as TV shows like Law & Order: Criminal Intent (a fave) and Amazon’s I Love Dick. He’s also dipped his toe in directing and even helmed the 1998 Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock classic, Practical Magic.
Talent clearly runs in the family.
