Seems Greta Gerwig isn't the only one who's a fan of Barbies.
As Beyoncé once cheekily sang on her song “Diva”: I think I'm gettin' too much money, everybody mad. Of course, Queen Bey and her rapper husband, Jay-Z, have quite the impressive net worth between the two of them, and it seems the pair have no problem using their assets to get their children special gifts...like an $80k Barbie, for instance.
For Blue Ivy's first birthday party, the pair reportedly made it a Princess-style event, with pink roses and sparkly items everywhere. But according to Maxwell Stone, the couple went all out with their gift for Blue Ivy—a one-of-a-kind diamond-encrusted Barbie worth $80k.
Leading jewel experts at the retailer Steven Stone recently took a look at the Barbie that Beyoncé and Jay-Z got for their daughter, Blue Ivy, 11, on her first birthday.
“[The Barbie was] confirmed to feature 160 diamonds, set in white gold,” Stone said. The toy was reportedly made custom by Tiffany & Co. (which would make sense given the couple's recent collaboration with the luxury jewelry house).
While a photo of the doll has never been released, Crisscut Magazine postulated that it might look like the most-expensive diamond-set Barbie ever made, as seen in their article here.
Now, while you might be stunned by that price tag, this isn't even the most expensive gift the “Crazy in Love” couple have gotten Blue Ivy. When the Grammy-winner was just a baby, the pair famously purchased her a golden rocking horse that was worth $600,000 (nbd).
Oh, and let's not forget that Bey and Jay also share 6-year-old twins Rumi and Sir (who we're sure have gotten a few nice toys for their birthdays, too).
