In the clip, Pascale tests out the trendy device with three different food categories: breakfast, drunk snacks and dessert.
For breakfast, she attempts to hard boil eggs and fry crispy bacon, and both turn out successful, with the eggs getting cooked all the way through and the bacon turning out just right (without the need for preheating, as she points out).
Next, Pascale makes mini pizzas as her “drunk snacks,” and these turn out equally delicious, with the cheese perfectly melty and the edges crisped. She notes that if you want the bottom of the dough to be a little crispier, then it might help to put that in for five minutes before adding the toppings, but otherwise Pascale was pleased.
Finally, the last test was dessert, where Pascale cooked homemade fried Oreos. By quickly wrapping the Oreos in dough and dousing them in a splash of butter, the treats came out evenly cooked, and were made even tastier with a dusting of powdered sugar.
When the moment of truth came for Pascale to determine whether the Dash Tasti-Crisp Air Fryer was worth it, she said, “Y-E-S.” In her explanation, the creator said, “It is worth around $50. It is easy to use, it is versatile and on top of it, you don't need oil to cook with this [device]. So it is a win-win.”
Pascale did point out that the one con of the fryer was the size of the tray, saying, “It is just a little too small, so you can't cook for groups of people.” But she added, “If you're cooking for yourself, you're good to go.” On the PureWow100 scale, Pascale gave the air fryer an impressive score of 90 out of 100.
We will definitely be picking up one of these for ourselves.
