Chic. Timeless. Elevated.

I’ve always been particular with fabrics. (Wool to me = itchy; crepe = too wrinkly.) One fabric I’ve always adored, however, is suede—and as it turns out, suede is the trending fabric of fall 2024. This smoother, softer type of leather is the answer if you’re looking to add some quiet luxury/fall energy into your wardrobe. It’s a high-quality fabric that elevates any outfit, and an authentic suede item will likely last you a long time (if you take care of it). And if you need further proof that suede is all the rage right now, feel free to give it a quick search on TikTok—you’ll find a myriad of videos featuring fashion influencers sharing their favorite suede finds of fall 2024.

Following suit of our fashion-obsessed counterparts on TikTok, I’ve compiled a list of trendy-yet-timeless suede items that I am 100 percent going to be shopping for fall 2024, including boots from Nine West, skirts, bags and more.

J. Crew/Dasha Burobina for PureWow

A carry-all bag is a must-have item for fall, and I love this bucket option from J. Crew. It looks a lot like the viral, highly-coveted NS Belt Bag from The Row—but about 10 percent of the price—and it comes in a walnut brown suede texture.

If there’s one thing I adore, it’s a knee-high boot. Combine with a versatile brown suede colorway and block heel, like these Peachy Heeled Boots from Nine West, and you’ve got a true match made in heaven. These would go perfectly with the current boho chic resurgence. Think: ruffled blouses, mini skirts or tailored trouser shorts. Plus, the slightly pointed toe and sleek silhouette will never go out of style. Pro tip: Nine West has plenty of suede options to shop—seriously, I scrolled their ‘boots’ section for half an hour.

reformationdress
Reformation

Elegance at its finest, this dress is at the top of my must-have list for fall. It’s so versatile and can be worn for a plethora of occasions—pair it with a heeled boot for a day at the office, or a leather jacket and strappy kitten heels for night. When it comes to Reformation dresses, you really can’t go wrong.

dandydel
Dandy Del Mar

I love supporting small brands—and when I saw this chestnut suede mini skirt from Dandy Del Mar (they make all of their products in California!), I instantly fell in love. After receiving it in the mail, I knew it was kismet—not only is the suede texture and quality of this skirt so luxe, but it also fits perfectly.

As you’ve probably noticed by now, Western-inspired wear isn’t going anywhere—especially the illustrious cowboy boot. From runways to retail, Western boots continue to reign in popularity, and these Wilton Western Boots from Nine West offer an elevated take on this classic shoe. You can pick from two of their sleek, suede colorways (medium brown suede and light gray suede, pictured above). I see myself pairing these boots with a midi-dress for one of my next in-office days or rocking them for GNO with a denim skirt. Regardless of the occasion, this trendy silhouette will take you right through fall 2024 (and beyond).

Sézane/Dasha Burobina for PureWow

I’m a bit of a Francophile, so it should be no shock I’m a massive fan of Sézane. Known for their high-quality fabrics, pieces from Sézane become popular quickly (you may remember the viral Will Jacket)—and this Terry Jacket is no exception. Although it comes in a handful of colors and fabrics, the brown suede is to die for, and will have you looking trendy and elegant this fall.

savette
Savette

Sorry, I didn’t see you there… I was sitting with my jaw wide open at how adorable this navy suede hobo bag from Savette is. This bag (which comes in small and large sizes) is absolutely an investment piece that will last you forever—both the suede fabric and the navy colorway make it an elevated accessory that can really be used for any occasion.

br
Banana Republic

Say helloooo to the perfect intersection between comfort and style. Let us introduce you to these high-rise suede pants from Banana Republic, which come in a wide size range (they have petite sizes for all of my fellow short-legged friends out there) and two fall-appropriate colors: light grey and chestnut brown. Oh, and they’re only $50. See you at checkout.

belt
Anderson's

I don’t know about you, but I always have a hard time buying belts. It usually feels like an unnecessary purchase to me, but when I saw this suede version from Anderson’s, I could’ve been persuaded otherwise. Not only does this dark brown suede color match with pretty much everything, it also has light (almost white) gold hardware to really seal the luxury of it in.

Madewell/Dasha Burobina for PureWow

Like any other fashion-loving gal, I’ve always idolized Alexa Chung—so when I saw the release of her collection with Madewell, it was game over. This incredible suede overcoat will carry you through decades of autumns to come, adding a chic, European-fall layer to any outfit you’re sporting.

purse
St. Agni

A wine-hued suede mini purse? Say less. This adorable option from St. Agni is a perfect addition to your fall wardrobe, and can be dressed up or down with ease. It also has a trendy crescent silhouette, but will last for years to come as a staple accessory in your closet. Plus, the name of this bag is the “mini bon bon”—which I think is so cute and a great selling point in itself.

jacket
Massimo Dutti

Having pieces in your closet that can last you through multiple seasons is crucial if you’re a person who likes to shop quality over quantity, and this cropped jacket from Massimo Dutti is the perfect example. The silhouette is as classic as classic gets, with a traditional collar and a three-button closure that will essentially match with any outfit.

longskirt
Me+Em

A good maxi skirt is undoubtedly a wardrobe staple—but a suede maxi skirt? It’s the best thing I never knew I needed. Imagine this with a white sweater vest and some western boots for your next girls’ night? Iconic. Needless to say, this maxi skirt is one I’m coveting for the suede renaissance of fall 2024.
