Meghan Markle’s shoe wardrobe is, in a word, enviable. But if you really study what she wears, you may find that she often sticks to just a few different silhouettes. This rotation of shoes allows for versatility, so Markle can transition from chasing 2-year-old Archie around the backyard to stepping out for a fancy date night with Prince Harry. But it’s also a good reminder that when you find something that works, you should hold it close, never let it go…and then buy one of every color.

Without further ado, here are the five pairs of shoes every woman needs in her closet, according to the Duchess of Sussex.

1. Pointy-toe Pumps

Meghan loves a high heel, and for good reason. They’re unbelievably flattering, and literally/figuratively elevate any outfit. If four- or five-inch pumps are a bit too painful, consider this: A lower pair with a pointed toe and a slim heel will make the heel appear higher than it really is.

2. Flat Leather Sandals

The epitome of a summer staple, the flat leather sandal is comfortable enough to wear (and walk in and dance in) for long periods of time, and looks infinitely more put-together than a pair of flip-flops. Take a page out of Meg’s playbook and pair them with a breezy sundress, or try ‘em with a pair of shorts or boyfriend jeans.

3. Smoking Slippers

Borrow from the boys and look cool as hell. Slippers are a great way to instantly dress up any outfit without sacrificing comfort. They come in a ton of colors, materials and varying levels of embellishment, but you kinda can’t go wrong with a classic black suede pair like Markle’s (which are from Birdies, by the way).

4. White Sneakers

Even when the duchess dresses down, she has major style. Wear your white sneaks with everything from boyfriend jeans and slim-cut trousers to midi skirts and shirtdresses—just make sure they’re spotless.

5. Heeled Boots

Pointy-toe pumps and smoking slippers will serve you well in the fall, spring and summer. But come wintertime, swap them out for tall boots. Regardless of how high the heel is, they look sleek underneath a dress, skirt or wide-leg trousers, or pulled over a pair of slim-fitting pants.
