Jo March Would Love This ‘Little Women’-Inspired Wedding Dress

If you’re a literary bride-to-be who enjoys bucking tradition but adores Victorian-era romance, then the perfect wedding dress for you has finally arrived.

Ahead of the December 25 release of Little Women, direct-to-consumer wedding dress brand Floravere just introduced an oh-so romantic vintage-inspired dress that’s named for Jo March.

Like its namesake, the gown is subversive in the traditional bridal landscape. It’s made of flowing, 100 percent silk double georgette (not unlike the texture of Timothée Chalamet’s hair, as the website points out) with lace trim. Basically, it’s unlike anything you’ll find at standard wedding gown shops.

The ethereal frock features romantic ruffles and exaggerated puff sleeves to evoke Jo’s free-spirited nature. It’s very garden party of yesteryear with a hint of going for a walk through the country with a ladylike parasol, ya know?

A statement from Floravere says the Serena Williams-backed brand was founded with “a mission to upend the legacy bridal industry and disrupt dated ideas of what being a bride means—sharing a goal to dismantle bridal tropes with Jo March and Little Women author Louisa May Alcott.” All Floravere gowns are named for inspirational women, like Joan Didion, Meghan Markle, Nina Simone and Florence Nightingale, which makes us even more intrigued.

The J. March dress is now available to pre-order exclusively on Floravere’s website for $2,450. It’s offered in sizes zero to 14 and can be made to order in five months. You can even snag the very Jo hat for $120.

The catch? There’s no Laurie included.
