TOTAL: 96/100

For the past few years, I’ve been struggling with inseams. As a self-proclaimed jeans hoarder, my denim collection takes up almost a third of my walk-in closet, yet I only regularly wear one or two styles. The rest? They’re jeans I love but can’t part with—though they’re missing one key thing: the right length. At 5'7", I never considered myself tall, but I also knew I wasn’t short. I remember my doctor calling me "average height," and I took it as a mild insult. Now, even my online orders seem to disagree with me. Regular-length jeans often hit above my ankle, while tall-length pairs drown me—and I already know jeans for short women would be disastrous on me. Then, I discovered Frame’s Le Jane jeans (was $288, now $186) with their sleek, straight-leg cut and high-waist fit. Most of all, I was excited to finally try a pair of premium denim designed for women with long legs. Here's how it went. (Spoiler: They're now my most-worn jeans.)

My Review of the Frame Le Jane Jeans

How Do the Frame Le Jane Jeans Fit?

Sizing on jeans can tricky, especially considering that the fit often alters when the denim undergoes treatment to obtain certain washes. With this in mind, I consulted the size guide very carefully before selecting a size and happened to order the 27, which ended up feeling a bit too loose around the waist, bums and thighs, so I exchanged it for the 26-inch waist. For reference, I fluctuate between sizes 26 and 27, or 4 and 6, and found that opting for the smaller size gave me a bespoke fit with zero gaping at the waist.

While the brand notes that the 100 percent premium cotton denim is rigid, it will conform to your figure and mold to you like a second skin—seriously. It’s made from the softest material that you won’t find in vintage styles or lower quality denim. The denim does naturally stretch after multiple wears, and this is when I notice the jeans taking on extra room around the waistband that’s great for seconds at the dinner table, but not my cup of tea when it comes to looks, so I find that throwing them in the wash and letting them line dry gets them back in tip-top shape.

Waist, feel and overall fit aside, when it comes to length, these babies are the *ultimate* jeans for tall women. With a 34-inch inseam, they were designed to give legs for days. When I first tried them on, the hem pooled at my feet comically and I immediately knew they needed to get altered at the tailor. Most of the time, I’d return a pair of jeans right then and there, because who has the time or can justify the extra cost of a hemming? But when you come across a pair of jeans that look scrumdiddlyumptious on your bum, waist and thighs…it’s an easy decision. I ended up hemming the inseam to 31 inches to wear with heeled booties, so that’s why you’ll notice that every look you’ll see me style it with below is with a type of heel or boot.

How I Style My Frame Le Jane Jeans

Stephanie Meraz

1. Go Cozy with a Chunky Knit, Belt and Booties

For days when I want to look put together but feel comfortable, I opt for the cozy route, which includes my softest chunky knit. No matter the fit, whether it’s cropped or oversize, any kind of knit in any color or pattern will look fab with them. Doing a quick French tuck and looping in a stylish belt to peep through the front is one of the easiest ways to elevate the denim. For an extra chic touch, don a pair of black heeled booties or go bold in a pop of color.

2. Opt for a Classic Combo with a White Shirt, Boots and Jacket

Basically my everyday uniform, a white blouse, boots and a jacket will always be a classic, no matter the occasion. It’s polished, refined and so simple to throw together on a whim. Bonus points if it’s a trench coat.

3. Dress It Up with Trendy Pieces

It’s no secret that suede jackets are having a moment, so what better way to show off your new jeans than with this trendy topper? Because of the elongating effect of the straight-leg silhouette, I find that the unlikely pairing is quite complementary.

4. Do: Denim on Denim

I’m a sucker for a Canadian tuxedo, and Frame’s Le Jane jeans are practically begging to be paired with a denim button-down blouse. I like to really lean into the Western vibes when I wear this combo, so I’ll sport an animal print belt and my Everlane suede Outlaw boots as you’ll see in the image above.

The Bottom Line: Are Frame’s Le Jane Jeans Worth It?

What I Like

  • cotton fabric is comfortable and incredibly soft right out of the box
  • elongating silhouette
  • conforms and molds to my frame

What I Don't Like

  • requires tailoring if you’re under 5’10

Frame

I’ll be the first to admit that Frame jeans are an investment, and the pricey $288 Le Jane style is certainly no exception. But if you’re searching for a pair of jeans that combines durability, quality and premium cotton, these are absolutely worth it. Whether you're petite, average height like me or taller, the impeccable fit makes the price tag worthwhile. The tailored silhouette is flattering for all body types, and there's even a cropped, ankle-length option ($278) for a shorter finish. I know how difficult it is to find jeans that fit well, let alone a style that suits anyone over a certain height, so consider these the needle in your denim haystack.
