Abby Hepworth for PureWow

There’s a very specific thrill some get from purchasing a new swimsuit, like it’s somehow the promise that you will soon be on a tropical vacation, lounging poolside and sipping a cocktail (rather than staying inside to watch Selling Sunset for the third time). But I’ve got a bit more to work with in the bust area—yes, I belong to the D-cup-and-up crowd—and I’ve found that hunting for the best swimsuits for big boobs isn't always such a joyful high. As a size 32G, I can wear a size S T-shirt, but an XL triangle top probably won’t fit my gals and if its flimsy straps don’t have a lick of support, well, it’s just not going to work out. And please, don’t get me started on push-up bikini tops that put me at high risk for a nip slip.

So this year I decided to only acquire swimwear from brands that cater to my needs and my cup-size. My research, which yes, has included many happy days at the beach, led me to this list of 18 suits that are big boob-friendly. Each and every one is designed specifically to flatter and support bigger busts—all without sacrificing style. Because if I've learned one thing during this experiment, it's that nothing’s a better confidence booster than a swimsuit that feels like it was made for your figure—especially if it can do all that without an underwire.

How I Chose the Best Swimsuits for Big Boobs

All the bathing suits on this come recommended from PureWow editors who’ve worn and loved them for multiple beach or pool visits. The brands have also been vetted as big boob-friendly, with design elements that maximize support and style, without costing an arm and a leg. And, of course, I combed through all the product reviews to confirm these bikinis and one pieces do indeed live up to the hype.

6 Big Boob Style Tips We Learned from Sydney Sweeney

Best Bikini Top

1. RAQ Balconette Top

What We Like

  • inclusive size range
  • adjustable straps and back band
  • made with eco-friendly materials

What We Don’t Like

  • few color options

RAQ

Despite its rather racy name, RAQ’s whole M.O. is to create fun and well-fitting swimwear for larger busts. And I believe they’re a sleeper success in this particular category. As the site declares, “We make bikinis that suit the silent majority of boobs. Big boobs. Hormonal boobs. Augmented boobs. Pregnant boobs. Any boob that’s D cup or larger, we’re all over it. Literally.” As for how they meet that promise? I slipped into a RAQ bikini for the first time three summers ago and was astonished. I hardly ever feel supported in a swimsuit—let alone feel like it fits properly, is slightly sexy and still flattering. I’ve never had a nip slip in a RAQ suit and have now invested in multiple silhouettes from the brand. And despite the fact that this bikini comes loaded with underwire, boning and power mesh to give boobs of any size ample support, you’d never know that from the ultra-fierce (and comfortable) design.

FAST FACTS

  • Size Range: US 30D/E to 42J/K
  • Material: 82 percent recycled polyamide, 18 percent elastane
  • Care Instructions: hand wash in cold water, hang to dry

Best Black One-Piece

2. Adore Me Annabee Unlined One-Piece

What We Like

  • affordable price point
  • underwire support
  • adjustable back ties

What We Don’t Like

  • available only in black

Adore Me

Associate Editor Chelsea Candelario recently snapped up this timeless LBS (little black swimsuit) and is already totally obsessed. “This one-piece has underwire and adjustable tie straps so it can really support the girls all day long,” she notes. “I also love how it shows off my curves, and it’s a very comfortable design that I will definitely be wearing all summer.” The wide straps criss-cross in back and can be pulled tighter or looser to fit your frame as needed without digging in or slipping off. And that peek-a-boo keyhole below the underwire cups adds just a touch of sexiness to an otherwise classic silhouette.

FAST FACTS

  • Size Range: XS to 4X
  • Material: 80 percent recycled nylon, 20 percent spandex
  • Care Instructions: not listed

Best Hidden Underwire

3. Bravissimo Cancun Bikini Top

What We Like

  • available in bra sizes
  • multiple matching bottom options
  • sporty silhouette

What We Don’t Like

  • few color options

Bravissimo

Much like RAQ, Bravissimo focuses entirely on the DD-and-up crowd and sells lingerie and sports bras in addition to adorable, supportive swim. If you feel confident you know what you like, you can jump right in and start shopping by size or style. Or you can opt for a virtual fitting with an expert stylist who can advise you on the best sizes and styles for your body type and poolside needs. For those who like the support of an underwire, but not the all-too-common bra-like silhouettes that come with them, this ribbed V-neck top is an absolute must have. It has molded ups and an underwire hidden within the design to keep you feeling confidently secure on even the most active beach days. The back closes with a hook so you won’t have to stress about double-knotting ties. Reviewers say it fits a little big, so be sure to double check the size chart before ordering.

FAST FACTS

  • Size Range: US 30D to 40J
  • Material: 67 percent polyester, 21 percent nylon, 12 percent elastane
  • Care Instructions: not listed

Best String Bikini

4. Monday Swimwear Morocco Top

What We Like

  • lots of color options
  • adjustable neck and back ties
  • fully lined with no padding

What We Don’t Like

  • high price point

Monday Swimwear

Yes, you can wear a string bikini if you have big boobs—so long as you pick the right one. Devin Brugman and Natasha Oakley's first foray into the world of swim was their blog, A Bikini A Day, where they'd—you guessed it—post about a new swimsuit each day. They took everything they learned from wearing and testing suits and turned it into a label of their own. I've been a fan of Monday Swimwear for years, often keeping tabs on which styles sell out and what colors are the hottest in their range, and each style is included in their fit guide with detailed info on cup recommendations, design highlights and even insight into the sizes that Brugman and Oakley wear. This chic triangle top uses wider straps and ring hardware to create a more supportive twist on the string bikini, and the cups can be fanned out for extra coverage or cinched in for a sexier silhouette.

FAST FACTS

  • Size Range: P to VV
  • Material: 91 percent recycled nylon, 9 percent spandex
  • Care Instructions: hand wash cold, lay flat to dry

Most Affordable

5. Cupshe V-Neck Tummy Control One-Piece

What We Like

  • shaping in the midsection
  • lots of color options
  • removable cups

What We Don’t Like

  • minimal support in the bust

Cupshe

This ruched one-piece has been all over TikTok, with shoppers of a variety of body types, including those with big busts, raving about how flattering it is. The material strikes a perfect balance between comfort and compression, and has a lot of stretch to accommodate larger cup sizes. Per one reviewer who wears a size 40DD, “My boobs are covered but there’s sexy cleavage, my tummy is covered, my butt looks fabulous and it is a perfect, classic look!” This one-piece comes in a whopping 33 different colors and patterns, including multiple floral prints, delicate stripes, pastel hues, bright neons and, of course, black. Just note, while the straps are adjustable, there isn’t a ton of support in the bust, so if you really want to feel locked in you may want to go with a more structured design.

FAST FACTS

  • Size Range: XS to XXL
  • Material: 80 percent nylon, 20 percent spandex
  • Care Instructions: machine wash cold, lay flat to dry

Best for Active Beach-Goers

6. Left On Friday Pool Days Top D+

What We Like

  • lots of color options
  • specifically designed for cup sizes D to G
  • fully lined with no padding

What We Don’t Like

  • straps are not adjustable

Left On Friday

Left On Friday launched with the goal of crafting chic, timeless swimwear with an impeccable fit and fabric that can withstand surfing, beach volleyball and chasing after children in the waves. Reader, they succeeded. They’ve developed something of a cult following, and just last year released a whole range of tops designed specifically for bigger busts with all the same sleek simplicity as their OG silhouettes, just with added support and coverage where it’s needed most. The Pool Days top is one of LOF’s best-selling designs and a quick scroll through the reviews will immediately reveal why: “Tell you what, I feel like a million bucks in this bathing suit,” writes one size 38F cup reviewer. Another, who wears a size 32DDD says, “I was honestly shocked. The fabric is soft and great quality. And the FIT! It is supportive but doesn’t look like body armor, the shoulder straps aren’t too long, the band is actually tight enough and there’s actually enough space for my boobs.” The only challenge is figuring out which of the 12+ colors you want to add to cart first.

FAST FACTS

  • Size Range: XS to XXL
  • Material: 46 percent nylon, 38 percent polyester, 16 percent Lycra
  • Care Instructions: machine wash cold, hang to dry

Best Plunge Bikini Top

7.  Old Navy V-Neck Longline Bikini Top

What We Like

  • built-in UPF sun protection
  • lots of color options
  • removable cups

What We Don’t Like

  • straps are not adjustable

Old Navy

Another affordable recommendation from Candelario, this plunging bikini top comes in more than ten colors and features a wide band under the bust to give your gals ample support without requiring an underwire. “You would think the deep V-neck would be worrisome, but surprisingly the top provides enough coverage and support,” she says. “It also has wide straps and removable pads for a comfy fit.” Other reviewers note that the wide shoulder straps, while not adjustable, are incredibly comfortable and don’t dig in the way thinner straps often do for those with big boobs. And while the neckline is cut very low, the cups are positioned to provide extra coverage on the sides and around the back, so you won’t feel exposed all over.

FAST FACTS

  • Size Range: XS to 4X
  • Material: 96 percent recycled polyester, 4 percent spandex
  • Care Instructions:

8. L.L.Bean Shaping Swimwear Tanksuit

What We Like

  • available in long torso sizes
  • multiple pattern options
  • built-in UPF 50 sun protection

What We Don’t Like

  • straps are not adjustable

L.L.Bean

If you want a little extra shaping in your midsection alongside bust support, this L.L.Bean one-piece has both, with the added bonus of coming in a plethora of cute, cool prints and patterns. The combination of a tummy control panel and draped ruching works to smooth your silhouette and create the illusion of an hourglass figure. And it comes in long torso sizes, too! The only downside may be that the shoulder straps are not adjustable, but even so, most reviewers found the suit fit true to size.

FAST FACTS

  • Size Range: US 8 to 26W, also Long Torso
  • Material: 73 percent nylon, 27 percent Lycra Xtra Life
  • Care Instructions: hand wash, line dry

9. Kitty and Vibe Banded Triangle Top

What We Like

  • built-in UPF 50 sun protection
  • impressive size range
  • adjustable shoulder straps

What We Don’t Like

  • bottom band is not adjustable

Kitty and Vibe

This fun, bright swim brand's unique sizing system was originally developed to address fit issues regarding the bottom half of swimsuits. But, of course, body inclusivity isn’t just limited to embracing bums of all shapes and sizes. Kitty and Vibe also has an impressive size range for triangle, tank and wrap tops, with most available from an A to a G cup (if you're looking for underwire, the brand's got that, too) and a specific size range for those with smaller ribcages and larger busts. As the website notes, the S+ to XL+ range is for anyone who typically wears a band size 28 to 34, with a S+ fitting sizes 28DDD/F to 36E and the XL+ fitting sizes 36H/I. “This bikini fits perfectly and looks great!” raves one reviewer who wears a size 32G. “I can never find swim tops that fit right, but this one makes me feel confident and sexy instead of self-conscious.”

FAST FACTS

  • Size Range: XS to 4X (also S+ to XL+)
  • Material: 82 percent recycled polyester, 18 percent X-Life Lycra
  • Care Instructions: machine wash cold, lay flat to dry

Best Retro Print

10.  Freya Aloha Coast Bikini Top

What We Like

  • available in bra sizes
  • multiple matching bottom options
  • straps can be worn as a racerback or H

What We Don’t Like

  • no care instructions listed

Freya

You may be familiar with Freya as a brand that makes bras and lingerie for big boobs, but did you know it also makes swim? And cute swim, at that? This adorable two-piece has an undeniably ‘80s/’90s vibe that brings on all the nostalgic feels, without literally looking the suits I wore as a kid. The bust strap has multiple hooks in back to ensure it fits exactly how you like it, and the shoulder straps are fully adjustable, with the added bonus of a clip that allows you to style them in either a classic H shape or as a racerback for even more support. Speaking of support, the cups have a built-in underwire and are molded to give your gals a round, perky shape without any padding (have no fear, this is not a push-up design) like your favorite everyday bra. There are also two matching bottom silhouettes to choose from—a full coverage brief and a high-cut cheeky.

FAST FACTS

  • Size Range: US 30D to 40J
  • Material: 80 percent polyamide, 20 percent elastane
  • Care Instructions: not listed

Best Under $50

11. Shade & Shore Underwire Contrast Bikini Top and High-Waist Bikini Bottom

What We Like

  • removable padding
  • classic design
  • top comes in bra sizes

What We Don’t Like

  • only available in two colors

Shade & Shore

Candelario has been a huge fan of Target’s swim collection ever since the store improved its selection of plus size and big bust options. “I so appreciate Target selling large cup sizes,” she tells me. “I recently started wearing bikinis and I’ve found Target’s to be inclusive and affordable—a real win-win. I get full coverage and never have to worry about spillage.” For summer 2024, this minimalist silhouette will fit right in with the trends and even manages to make an underwire feel chic and not at all bra-like. Both the shoulder straps and under-bust band are adjustable, with multiple hook settings in the back, and there’s removable padding in the cups should you want some extra coverage. Best of all, it comes in bra sizes for a more specific fit that won’t have you guessing between ordering a medium for your band and an XL for your boobs.

FAST FACTS

  • Size Range: US 32B to 38DD, and XS to XL
  • Material: 82 percent nylon, 18 percent spandex
  • Care Instructions: hand wash, lay flat to dry

12. Heidi Klein Cap Mala U-Bar Bikini Top and Fold Over Bikini Bottom

What We Like

  • side seam boning
  • adjustable halter neck and back ties
  • lots of color options

What We Don’t Like

  • high price point

Heidi Klein

This U.K.-based brand has a very devoted cult following that includes the likes of Jennifer Aniston and Kate Moss. But for those with a larger chest, it’s the brand’s signature focus on construction that never actually resembles a bra or corset (thought it may offer similar support) that keeps them coming back summer after summer. The design team doesn’t just increase the measurements or amount of fabric for larger sizes, but instead does a deep dive into exactly what needs to be done to make every style work for every bust size. For instance, this best-selling U-bar bikini top—designed specifically for big busts—has a wide band to offer support from the sides as well as underneath, and features side seam boning to maintain a smooth silhouette from all angles. And although the bikini is sold as a set, you select your top and bottom sizes individually.

FAST FACTS

  • Size Range: M to XXXL for the top, and XS to XL for the bottom
  • Material: 85 percent polyamide, 15 percent elastane
  • Care Instructions: not listed

Most Timeless Bikini

13. CUUP The Plunge Bikini Top

What We Like

  • built-in UPF 50 protection
  • adjustable shoulder straps and back band
  • made with eco-friendly materials

What We Don’t Like

  • reportedly runs small

CUUP

I recommend CUUP for just about every bust size because of the brand’s intense attention to size and fit, but it’s an especially great option for larger chests because it makes both bras and swimwear that go up to an H cup—a true rarity for cute swimwear. CUUP has its own sizing system wherein you enter your band size then your cup size to determine which fit is right for you (there’s also a handy fit quiz if you’re unsure, or you can schedule a 20-minute virtual fitting as well). The end result is a supportive and sleek bikini that won’t ride up, gape or otherwise become uncomfortable and unflattering, like this ‘90s-inspired underwire plunge top that comes in six enviable color options. There are also multiple matching bottoms to choose from, including a retro high-waist brief and an ultra-sexy string bikini.

FAST FACTS

  • Size Range: 30A to 38H
  • Material: 78 recycled Econyl polyamide, 22 percent elastane
  • Care Instructions: hand wash cold, lay flat to dry

Trendiest One-Piece

14.  ASOS Fuller Bust Underwire Floral Swimsuit

What We Like

  • adjustable, removable straps
  • underwire support
  • under $100

What We Don’t Like

  • tends to sell out quickly

ASOS

I've said it once and I'll say it again: ASOS is a goldmine for cute DD+ swimwear that's actually affordable. Rather than relying on lingerie sizing, ASOS combines your dress size with your cup size to deliver a well-fitted suit (that runs true to size), most ranging from D to F and 0 to 14. And the selection is seriously impressive, with super trendy patterns (like this floral one-piece), timeless solids and everything in between. And despite the wallet-friendly prices, I've found that each suit is smartly built to provide as much support as possible—case in point, this underwire beauty with molded cups that really hold you up without pinching. Pro tip: Check back often and buy the suit you like as soon as you spot it; I've lost many a perfect bikini from ASOS by simply waiting one day to make my purchase.

FAST FACTS

  • Size Range: US 30DDD/F to 38I

Best Halter Top

15. Swimsuits for All Avenger Halter Bikini Top

What We Like

  • adjustable neck and back ties
  • no underwire

What We Don’t Like

  • reportedly runs a little big

Swimsuits for All

As you can likely guess from the name, Swimsuits for All is a retailer aimed at celebrating beach bodies of all shapes and sizes. For the big boob crew, there is a wide range of bra-sized bikinis and one-pieces, as well as numerous designs specifically made for folks who wear a DD cup or larger. This lace-print halter is wire-free with a string tie around the neck, but according to reviewers still manages to offer plenty of support. The key is that wider bottom band and the fact that the cups have enough structure to lift your bosom rather than leaving the gals hanging. That bottom band is also adjustable in back so you can knot it tighter or looser if need be. Just be sure to double check the brand’s size chart before ordering, as some reviewers found this style runs a little big.

FAST FACTS

  • Size Range: US 4 to 24
  • Material: nylon/spandex blend

Best for Minimal Tan Lines

16.  Triangl Mika Hala Bikini

What We Like

  • multiple matching bottom options
  • trendy silhouettes and patterns
  • under $100

What We Don’t Like

  • not available in plus sizes

Triangl

For those who love a skimpy bikini moment but don’t want to put everything on display, Triangl offers sizes specifically for those with smaller ribcages and full busts with its S+ and S++ sizing, the latter of which fit my 32G ladies rather perfectly. Shoppers can pick separate top and bottom sizes for each bikini set, so I was able to ensure the sizing was just right. I will admit, I had to sacrifice some support for Triangl's trendier silhouettes (no beach volleyball or jogging in these teeny bikinis), but I was still able to hit the beach in confidence that there wouldn't be any nip slips. Bonus: Mine came with a cute fabric pouch that matched my suit, making it the perfect place to store my wallet and phone during a recent beach day.

FAST FACTS

  • Size Range: XXS to XL (including S+ and S++), and XXS to XL
  • Material: 85 percent polyamide, 15 percent elastane
  • Care Instructions: hand wash cold, lay flat to dry

Most Secure Fit

17.  Swimsuits for All Confidante Underwire Bikini Top

What We Like

  • adjustable shoulder straps
  • wide back band
  • straps can be worn as a criss-cross or H

What We Don’t Like

  • few color options

Swimsuits for All

Multiple reviewers rave about how snug and secure they feel in this adorable underwire bikini, all while also feeling comfortable and confident. “Fit is absolutely amazing, I could not be happier,” writes one reviewer who wears a size 38DDD. “I have worn it a couple of times already and was very comfortable the entire time. I could even play games with people without worrying about losing coverage.” They also love the fact that the bottom band is super-wide, even in back, for 360 degrees of smoothing support. That does, however, mean you’ll have to pull this top on and off overhead, but most found that was easy enough, even when the suit was wet. As for the shoulder straps, the length can be adjusted and you can also switch between a classic H positioning and a criss-cross for added support when needed.

FAST FACTS

  • Size Range: 36DD to 46G
  • Material: 82 percent nylon, 18 percent spandex
  • Care Instructions: hand wash, lay flat to dry

Best Minimalist One-Piece

18. HUE Tie-Back One-Piece

What We Like

  • adjustable shoulder and back ties
  • timeless design
  • fully lined with no padding

What We Don’t Like

  • few color options

HUE

“Yes, the brand best known for their tights just joined the swimwear game and I'm really impressed,” Candelario tells me. And despite the fact that this super-simple one-piece isn’t specifically designed for larger busts, she notes that the material is wonderfully stretchy without appearing sheer. “The material has a quilted texture, so I don’t have to worry about it being see-through. It’s not padded, but the high neckline allows for full coverage, so no slips here.” The shoulder straps pull through two loops in back, giving you the option to have them sit in a classic H shape or criss-cross in an X if you prefer.

FAST FACTS

  • Size Range: S to XL
  • Material: 95 percent recycled nylon, 5 percent spandex
  • Care Instructions: machine wash cold, hang to dry
