In the late 2000s, back when I was a mere teen roaming the halls of my overly perfumed suburban mall, lululemon was it. As an undeniable sartorial status symbol, the brand’s popular skintight yoga pants said so much more than just “hey, look at me, I work out.” Fueled by Starbucks, sugar and adolescent angst, I’d dig through the sale racks like my life depended on it, snatching up anything and everything I could pay for in cash—an unnecessary headband here, an overpriced water bottle there.

Fast forward a few years and I’m still a lululemon stan—only now with better style, better credit and a better understanding of the quality, craftsmanship and innovation that goes into building a legacy brand. When lululemon made its first foray into footwear back in 2022, I was at the height of my running journey. Since then, I’ve tried almost every shoe, sneaker and slide the retailer has to offer—from the inaugural blissfeel to the most recent cityverse. With permanent spots in my weekly rotation, here are the top three pairs I wear on repeat.

Best for Running

1. Blissfeel 2 Running Shoe

lululemon

Just over a year ago, the blissfeel 2 running shoe debuted with rave reviews and multiple sell-outs. Based on the original pair that broke the internet back in 2022, lululemon took the same women-first approach when revamping the beloved sneaker, focusing on research, feedback and female-specific engineering. The main difference lies in the 3D-molded midfoot panel and refined upper that extends through the heel for additional support and stability. After testing both iterations, the blissfeel 2s provided noticeably more structure, while remaining just as light, springy and flexible as the originals.

As a long-distance runner with chronic plantar fasciitis, I need a shoe that can go the distance while leaving me relatively pain-free. This pair has just the right amount of cushion and bounce (without any over-the-top padding), absorbing and distributing the impact of each step evenly throughout my foot so I can slow down or speed up in one fluid motion. Plus, the midsole provides support exactly where I need it without interfering with my foot strike or ankle flexion. I first wore them straight out of the box on a 5-mile tempo run that included some unforeseen hills and was shocked by how lived-in they felt. Since then, they’ve become my go-tos for medium mileage runs (10K and below) and treadmill workouts.

Best for Everyday Wear

2. Strongfeel Training Shoe

lululemon

If you’ve ever seen me out and about in NYC, there’s a 90 percent chance I’m wearing these shoes. Though intended for strength training and HIIT due to the lightweight design, flat sole and low-profile cushioning, the strongfeels have evolved into my favorite everyday sneaker. I’ll dress them up on my way to work with wide-leg jeans and an oversize button-down or slip them on as I’m running out the door to walk the dog, grab coffee or grocery shop. In a city where the foot traffic rivals real traffic and pedestrians reign supreme, a comfortable pair of kicks is a non-negotiable, and this pair has seen me through numerous neighborhoods and multiple seasons (not to mention one persistently painful broken toe).

When discussing the perfect everyday shoe, I’d be remiss not to mention lululemon’s recently launched cityverse sneaker that was designed specifically for casual wear. Though I love this shoe for its thick sole, classic shape and elevated materials (similar to Nike’s Air Force 1 '07), it does feel noticeably heavier and a little bit clunkier than my beloved strongfeels.

3. Restfeel Slides

lululemon

Meet the grown-up version of the adidas slides you used to throw on after soccer practice: the lululemon restfeel slides. Flying under the radar since their inception, these sandals balance comfort and support through a unique dual-density cushioning blend—aka, a layer of soft foam sits on top of a layer of firmer foam, making them soft and squishy without any unsteadiness (us elders need ankle support). Plus, they’re easy on the eyes and surprisingly durable—no scuffs or scratches after multiple trips to and from the gym. Designed to help kickstart recovery, I love wearing these slides after a workout, while working from home or whenever I feel like my feet could use a breather.
