Anthropologie hits that sweet spot between trendy, unique clothing that’s also accessible and easy to wear. It’s long been my go-to whenever I’m in need of a new wedding guest dress, trendy pair of jeans or even a handbag that looks far more expensive than its price tag. But for summer 2024, Anthro has really gone above and beyond. Seriously, it was not an easy feat limiting this list to just 20 must-have items. From linen pants and convertible handbags to dresses for all occasions, here are the best Anthropologie summer items to add to your shopping cart ASAP.

Every Time I Wear These $90 Steve Madden Shoes People Think They’re from Hérmes

This mini version of the best-selling Somerset maxi dress is ideal for hot weather and comes in a range of incredibly fun prints, as well as classic black. The smocked waist helps define your figure without pinching, and there are deep pockets for storing sunscreen, lip balm or anything else you might want to keep handy. According to reviews, this frock fits true to size, although those with bigger boobs may want to consider going up one as the material doesn’t have a ton of stretch.

Another summery spin on an Anthropologie classic, I am elated to add a pair of Colette crops in linen to my existing collection. Lots of PureWow editors adore this easy-to-wear style, specifically the fact that it comes in such a wide size range with petite and tall inseam lengths, as well as plus sizes for nearly every color option. And there are a lot of colors and patterns to choose from, including the timeless off-white hue pictured above, bright raspberry pink and black, white and blue floral.

  • Materials: linen, viscose, elastane

If, like me, your thighs tend to chafe in the hotter months, might I suggest flowy jumpsuits? They’re a fabulously stylish way to get the look of a dress without you skin rubbing, and this Pilcro silhouette even has the added bonus of a smocked bodice for extra comfort. It also comes in tall lengths, so those over 5’9” don’t have to stress about the legs being long enough to fit their frame. And the material is a super-soft linen-viscose blend that’s breathable and light without appearing sheer.

  • Size Range: XXS to XL, also Petite and Tall

After building out my ultimate summer travel capsule wardrobe recently, I’ve become enamored with convertible handbags—who doesn’t love a two-in-one? This brightly colored handbag (which also comes in neutral hues like white and beige) can be styled as a crossbody bag with the detachable strap or as a top-handle clutch, pictured above. And it can fit a surprising amount of essentials including my phone, wallet, keys, sunglasses, lip balm, a small sunscreen and a sleek portable charger.

This stunning lace top is breezy, bold and easy to dress up or down to fit my needs. The neckline is adjustable with hidden buttons along the collar, and while the eyelet lace does create peek-a-boo moments, a nude bra won’t be very visible underneath. This blouse does run a little large, so if you’re between sizes you may want to go down one, but those with wider shoulders will likely prefer their usual size. P.S. There are also all-white and blue-and-yellow versions available, both of which come in plus (1X to 3X) and petite sizes (XXS Petite to XL Petite).

  • Size Range: XXS to XL

A stunningly chic cover-up, this maxi dress has a low back that is oh-so elegant and adjustable straps for a more custom fit. It is incredibly lightweight (and a tad sheer, FYI) and reviewers say it’s perfect for summer travels, as the material doesn’t wrinkle very much in transit. As for the fit, it is designed to be rather flowy, so petite folks and those who prefer a more streamlined silhouette will likely prefer to go down one size from their usual.

Can you ever, really, have too many basic tank tops? Probably, but that won’t stop me from adding this square-neck style to my shopping cart in every color. Reviewers say the material is incredibly soft and comfortable, and the length hits that Goldilocks point that is long enough to tuck into pants or skirts but no so long that it looks odd if left untucked. And the lighter colors are reportedly totally opaque, to boot.

Abstract shapes and a molten metal look are a major jewelry trend for summer 2024, but I love that these inch-long huggies are a more subtle take. They’re a great swap for my go-to classic hoops, and come in both gold and silver. Plus, they have the added bonus of a snap closure, which means there is no post poking out the back to annoy me if I’m laying down by the pool or taking a nap on the couch.

This patchwork cutie screams Y2K (in all the best ways) and is such a fun twist on the timeless slip skirt. The combination of white, blue and yellow materials, with a few more accent colors thrown into the mix, can be worn all through summer and into fall. You can even dress it up with heels and a silk cami for a cocktail event. It is a true stand-out piece I suspect I’ll get a surprising amount of wear out of.

10.  New Balance 327 Sneakers

New Balance

Comfortable sneakers are a must for any wardrobe,  and the New Balance 327 is one of the trendiest sneaker styles right now. Anthro has eight incredibly cool colors currently available to add to your summer shoe collection, but I’m partial to this vibrant cobalt blue to give my outfits a real pop. According to reviewers there’s also no break-in time necessary (score!).

FAST FACTS

  • Size Range: US 5 to 11

There’s something about a floaty white top that just screams summer. Of course, this swing top also comes in black, dusty blue and terracotta brown, but no matter what color you choose, the airy silhouette is sure to keep you feeling cool. The slightly cropped cut also prevents your figure from losing all shape. I love the styling of adding a dangling statement earring, but you could also sport a pendant necklace if that’s more your style.

  • Size Range: XXS to 3X, also Petite
  • Materials: cotton

Another fabulous travel bag, this crossbody has three zippered pouches to store and organize all your essentials without looking or feeling bulky. It is incredibly handy for whipping out your passport or phone without having to dig for them.  It also comes with two adjustable straps—the wide, striped polyester style pictured above, as well as a thinner matching faux-leather strap—to give you multiple styling options.

Buying multiple wedding guest dresses for every event I have this summer is just not feasible, but this stunning asymmetrical satin midi dress can absolutely be made to work for almost any dress code. The neck tie is removable too, turning this silhouette into a simple one-shoulder look, so you can switch up your look entirely, even before you factor in shoes and accessories. And, yes, it also comes in black for those who can’t resist a versatile LBD.

FAST FACTS

  • Size Range: XXS to XXL
  • Materials: polyester, elastane, viscose

Bold sandals are an easy way to add color to any outfit and this red hue is just too fabulous to pass up. Plus, the woven leather makes these beauties look far more expensive than their price tag. Reviewers say they fit true to size and are overall very comfortable, but they do require some breaking in before you can wear them for a full day of strutting around the city.

FAST FACTS

  • Size Range: US 4-4.5 to 11-12

I won’t lie, I originally thought this black-and-white cutie was a minidress, but upon learning it’s actually a romper I knew I just had to have it. The stitching along the neckline and the little keyhole cut are so fabulously chic, as is the drop waist. And, of course, I love that the shorts give the illusion of a skirt but won’t allow my thighs to chafe on even the most humid afternoons. And while this romper doesn’t come in petite or tall sizes, the straps are adjustable to give you some range to better fit different body types.

FAST FACTS

  • Size Range: XS to XL
  • Materials: cotton

Anthropologie has tons of incredible Farm Rio pieces for summer, including many that are exclusive to the retailer. But my favorite has to be this ocean-inspired midi dress. The waist is smocked with an adjustable bow in front to give the illusion of a nipped in waist, and although the neckline is a fairly deep V, it can still be worn with a regular ol’ T-shirt bra. The dress reportedly fits true to size, but if you have bigger boobs you may want to consider going up one from your usual, as the fabric doesn’t have a ton of stretch.

FAST FACTS

  • Size Range: XXS to XL
  • Materials: cotton

A little white dress is never a bad idea for hot weather, but it’s the curved waist seam on this cotton mini that really takes it from “fun” to “fabulous.” The detail is incredibly flattering, and makes this frock look way more luxe than a straight waistband or a loose tent dress. Oh, and did I mention it has pockets? If the white hue isn’t your favorite, it’s also available in a stunning grass green and a super-colorful plaid.

FAST FACTS

  • Size Range: XXS to 3X, also Petite
  • Materials: cotton

I don’t know about you, but recently I’ve been obsessing over the show Palm Royale, and not just because Kristin Wiig is such a hilarious performer. The clothes the women wear are peak 1960’s style, including multiple hair scarves, much like this one, to match their vibrant caftans and mini dresses. Plus, it’s an easy way to disguise a bad hair day that’s less expected than a classic headband.

FAST FACTS

  • Materials: polyester

If you’ve got vacation coming up, I highly recommend adding this sleek sunglasses case to your shopping cart ASAP. It comes in pale green and camel brown and can fit up to three pairs of sunnies. The hard case will do a better job protecting your eyewear than a simple slip case, and snaps shut with a small handle to make it easy to pull out of your luggage once you arrive.

  • Materials: faux leather

Sure, you could pull out your usual black rolling suitcase for your weekend getaway to the Hamptons or Palm Springs or Hilton Head, but this soft cotton duffel is so much more in the spirit of summer fun. It’s just the right size to use as a carry-on if your trip requires a flight, and has one external pocket for easy access to your essentials. There are also three inner slip pockets to help you organize everything.
