After Months of Piling on SPF, This Product Is My Go-To for Cold-Weather Skin Prep

You’ll Want One in Every Scent

Aside from the stifling humidity, I love everything about summer: The salty smell of the beach, the candy-colored sunsets and being outside as much as possible soaking up the warm sun. But spending hours outdoors (namely at the playground and the pool) means I lather myself in sunscreen all day, every day. And as much as I appreciate protecting myself from harmful rays, by the end of the season, my skin is beyond ready for some TLC. My new go-to product for cold-weather skin prep? Dove Exfoliating Body Scrub.

I’ll be honest, I’ve never been much of a body scrub person. I’ve tried both sugar and salt scrubs and even different types of exfoliating bars, but I always go back to my trusty silicone scrubber and body wash. I’ve actually been using the classic Dove body wash for years, so when I had the chance to try this exfoliarizing (no, that’s not a typo) body scrub, I was intrigued.

What’s an Exfoliarizing Body Scrub?

Dove body scrubs are a 2-in-1 product: Gentle exfoliants buff away dry, dull skin while ¼ moisturizing cream helps restore its nutrients. Basically, it’s giving relationship goals.

How Do You Use It?

Three to four times a week, scoop a generous amount out of the jar and massage it all over your body while in the shower. Small, circular motions are best for creating that creamy coverage. Then, rinse it away for silky smooth skin. Tip: You can even use it to prep your skin for self-tanning or to exfoliate before shaving to help prevent ingrown hairs.

What Made You Like It So Much?

I generally tend to stay away from products that claim to do too many things but let me tell you, this one really works. Typical exfoliators leave my skin feeling dry and tight because they’re too harsh and rough, but these Dove body scrubs have a creamy, whipped texture that spreads into a mild lather.

The key here, though, is the addition of moisturizing cream. I’m one of those people who lotions up their entire body after a shower (no shame) and on the days I use this scrub, I don’t even have to. It leaves my skin feeling so soft and hydrated, which is a must as we head into colder weather.

Dove body scrubs come in four scents: Crushed Macadamia & Rice Milk (my favorite), Pomegranate Seeds & Shea Butter, Crushed Cherries & Chia Milk and Brown Sugar & Coconut Butter. Go on and shop them all below. Your summer skin will thank you.
