The 661-room sanctuary, the first from Hilton’s chic new lifestyle brand Tempo, was dreamed up to cater to the needs of the post-pandemic traveler looking for a fully rounded vacation experience. As a result, guests at the Tempo can expect dedicated spaces for relaxing, working, recharging and dining all in one place. In our sneak peek preview of the Times Square location, we got to check out the hotel’s free-flowing communal spaces, perfect for afternoon hangs with friends and family, quick meals, leisurely dinners or afternoon Zoom calls with your coworkers.
But the ultimate draw for tourists and staycationers alike remains the gawk-worthy Times Square views, many of which give you a bird’s eye look at one of the most iconic intersections in the world.
As you might imagine, accommodations at the Tempo come with even more perks during the holiday season, especially if you can snag one of the 31 rooms that feature outstanding front-row views of the glittering Times Square Ball in all its New Year’s Eve countdown glory. With windows directly overlooking the flagpole at the top of One Times Square (aka the location of the ball drop), these rooms offer the chance to have an epic NYE experience without the need to pack into the crowds fall below.
The Tempo hotel also offers “wellness rooms” for those who’d never skip their daily sweat sesh, even on holiday. Each wellness room comes with a Peloton bike directly in the room, as well as a yoga mat and resistance bands. And of course, the designers took to heart the challenge of making a cozy hotel room that boasts enough room to truly get that workout in, without compromising your range of movement. There is also a dedicated and fully equipped gym downstairs open to all guests.
Additionally, all rooms have the option for automatic lighting changes throughout the day to match circadian rhythms and double pane glass to keep out harsh noise so you can recharge and forget the chaotic noise coming from below.
For on-site dining, the Tempo Times Square’s restaurant Highball takes creative liberty with local, NY-centric cuisine, like upscale twists on classic street vendor hot dogs and hot pretzel bites with Pickle Guy mustard. And don’t forget to indulge in the selection of signature cocktails, which you can sip at the bar or out on the expansive outdoor terrace. P.S. There are also plenty of “Free Spirited” options, aka alcohol-free mocktails, for non-drinkers.
If you’re hoping to snag a room with a view of the ball drop, we suggest you book soon. Then prepare to simply sit back, relax and ring in the new year in high style.
