The Details

Who Should You Bring?

This is a great hotel for any type of traveller, but it’s especially awesome for families. After a recent refresh, each floor now features “The Vault,” a room filled with free snacks like Swedish Fish and popcorn as well as complimentary beverages. And in the newly renovated lobby hangs a giant mural wherein a hidden key lies. Once kids find that key, they are given access to the Mystery Closet filled with toys, where they can select one for their taking! So yeah, your kids are going to freak out. But this impressive hotel is equally great for a couples city getaway or a wedding party too (the lobby decor is begging to be Instagrammed). The location is right by the park and within walking distance of bustling Newbury Street, one of the city's most iconic streets with lots of shopping and restaurants.

What’s the Food Like?

There are multiple restaurants available, including a takeaway coffee bar, an exclusive and intimate outdoor dining experience where you place your order by stepping into a phone booth and a brasserie lounge by the lobby. Our first day started off right with a truly excellent room service for breakfast—quality eggs, pancakes and oatmeal, exactly what you would come to expect from a Four Seasons. We're also still dreaming about the delicious club sandwich on the ground floor Coterie, which is seriously cool.

Did You Get a Good Night’s Sleep?

We could have slept for days in the ultra comfortable bed with its fluffy down pillows and comforters.

What Amenities Are Available?

There's an indoor pool on the eighth floor overlooking the Boston Public Garden and Beacon Hill with poolside dining available. For active travelers, there's also a nicely sized fitness center that's open 24/7.

How Was the Service?

The service was exactly what we’ve come to expect from a Four Seasons. Timely, attentive and willing to bend over backwards. At one point we lost our laptop charger and they were able to get one for us ASAP.  Anything you need, they are on top of it.

What Was Our Favorite Part?

The location is as good as it gets. It's in Back Bay across the street from Boston Common (aka, the Central Park of Boston) and the kids had an absolute blast on the carousel, playground and running around the field. We also went on a super fun swan boat ride around the pond which was also a big hit with the littles. After working up an appetite, we walked to Newbury Street and had an incredible brunch at Saltie Girl (get the lobster roll and crab toast!).

Know Before You Go

Overnight Valet at $65 per night is pretty steep, but street parking is predictably kind of a nightmare so that's something to keep in mind.
