Good news for True Detective fans.
HBO has released more details about season four, which deserves a spot on your watch list. While the network already confirmed that True Detective is returning for another season, it hadn’t shared many details about the new installment. But now, HBO has debuted a first-look teaser starring Jodie Foster.
Here’s everything we know about True Detective: Night Country.
No word on the premiere date, but the synopsis alone has us pumped for what’s to come.
True Detective: Night Country will star Jodie Foster in the leading role. She will be joined by Kali Reis, Fiona Shaw, Finn Bennett, Isabella Star Lablanc, Aka Niviâna, Anna Lambe, Joel D. Montgrand, Christopher Eccleston and John Hawkes.
The series will take place in Ennis, Alaska, where eight men mysteriously vanished from the Tsalal Arctic Research Station. The trailer (see above) introduces viewers to the investigation, which is spearheaded by Detective Liz Danvers (Foster). When the evidence points to homicide, she joins forces with Evangeline Navarro (Reis) to solve the case, which is far more complicated than meets the eye.
The new season will be filmed in Iceland and directed by Issa López (Tigers Are Not Afraid). Foster will also serve as an executive producer alongside Barry Jenkins, Adele Romanski, Nic Pizzolatto (series creator) and True Detective veterans Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson.
