Fans wasted no time sounding off on the museum’s Instagram, and they weren’t exactly holding back. One Swiftie flipped Swift’s iconic "Blank Space" lyric, commenting, "Darling, it's a daydream dressed like a nightmare." Another fan bluntly said, "What is that? sry, but that's embarrassing!" A third person chimed in with, "Completely unrealistic someone did a terrible job."
Adding fuel to the fire, Swifties pointed out that the wax figure’s attempt at the singer’s signature heart-hand gesture is all wrong. She typically uses both full hands to make the heart, but this wax version is only using index fingers and thumbs.
Some fans were totally here for the wax figures. One person on X said, "Honestly, these are really good renditions! Taylor's looks great!"
Another added, "I bet these figures are super realistic—a must-see for any Swifties or Sheerios hitting up the museum. I'd love to see how spot-on they are!"
Despite the fan uproar, Dr. Susanne Faerber, Managing Director of Panoptikum, is thrilled with the addition.
“With the wax figure of Taylor Swift, we are welcoming an absolute superstar to the Panoptikum… August 13 is therefore a truly lucky day for our wax museum—although the number 13 is also of great importance to Taylor Swift herself and to her countless Swifties. We are delighted to be able to offer many people a special fan experience with their star,” she said, per E! News.
