You will never, ever, ever, ever believe how well Taylor Swift’s “Eras Tour” movie performed at the box office during its first weekend in theaters.

Over the weekend, the “Cruel Summer” singer’s highly anticipated concert film, titled Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour, finally premiered in movie theaters across the country. And much like her world tour broke major records, it seems that the new movie has achieved a box office first.

For the film’s opening weekend, AMC reported that Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour earned a whopping $96 million at the box office (in addition to $32 million globally), making it the highest-grossing concert film domestically for an opening weekend.

The only film that has ever come close to this milestone is Justin Bieber’s 2011 concert film, Never Say Never, which brought in a total of $73 million during its time in theaters.

Last week, Swift, 33, attended the world premiere of her concert film in Los Angeles, where she had a number of unforgettable moments with her fans as well as celebrities. For instance, Adam Sandler, his wife Jackie and their two daughters, Sunny and Sadie Sandler, came out to support the musician and her newly released film.

In a video shared by a fan on X (formerly known as Twitter), the “Cardigan” singer walks up to the row Sander’s family is sitting in so she can greet the Murder Mystery 2 actor and his two girls, who are diehard Swifties. Swift hugs them and takes a quick photo with them, making the iconic heart gesture with her arms.

Can’t wait to see what other records Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour breaks in the coming weeks.
