It's just nonsense

Sabrina Carpenter isn’t letting anyone question her live performance skills. When one person recently suggested she was lip-syncing during one of her concerts, she had the perfect clapback.

It all started when a TikTok user posted a video of Sabrina, 25, performing her hit "Please Please Please" live. In response to a commenter asking, “Does she ever sing live?” the video creator responded with, “Hate to say it but 30% lip singing [sic] 30% backing track 40% singing.”

Fans quickly backed her up, flooding the comments with support. One wrote, “I saw her live and she 100% sang everything,” while another added, “She doesn’t lip-sync, she sings 100% live with just a little bit of backing track.” A third shared, "I saw her live on The Eras Tour and she sings live and PERFECT."

And, of course, Carpenter wasn’t about to let the false accusations slide. She jumped straight into the comments to shut it all down, saying, “I sing live every show 100%, would you like to speak to my audio engineers?” Naturally, her fans went wild after seeing the "Taste" hitmaker clap back.

“Oh Sabrina stood on BUSINESS," one person wrote. Another chimed, “Lmaooo Sabrina clocking it in the comments,” and another shared, “The Sabrina Carpenter calling you out is crazy.”

Sabrina’s now headlining her own Short n’ Sweet tour across the U.S., after opening for Taylor Swift during the Eras Tour in Australia and Singapore earlier this year. The tour kicked off on September 23 in Ohio and will wrap up in North America on November 18. But she’s not done yet—come March 2025, Sabrina will be taking her tour across the pond for a European leg. All of this is in support of her album Short n’ Sweet, which dropped in August.

And speaking of Taylor Swift, the “Taste” singer got a major shoutout from the "So High School" singer herself earlier this summer. After Sabrina shared a celebratory post about her whirlwind success (like selling out her tour and scoring a #1 pop hit with “Espresso”), Swift slid into the comments with the ultimate praise, writing, “SUMMER OF SABRINA AND MAY IT CONTINUE FOREVER.”

Looks like Sabrina is living her best life—and singing it loud and clear.
