After a whirlwind year of highs and lows, the royal family is wrapping things up with an epic holiday celebration.
King Charles is reportedly going to continue the late Queen Elizabeth’s cherished tradition of hosting Christmas at Sandringham in Norfolk. Royal insiders are calling it the ultimate family reunion. With around 40 relatives expected to join the festivities at Sandringham, one source has even dubbed it “one of the biggest family Christmases ever.”
“Actually, the plan is for them to all be at Sandringham for a very special big family Christmas. Prince William and Princess Catherine and the children will be there. The king and queen want their nearest and dearest with them to celebrate,” a royal source told Vanity Fair.
Yes, that means Prince William, Kate Middleton and their three adorable kids—Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6—are reportedly confirmed guests.
This festive update comes hot on the heels of Princess Catherine’s annual Christmas carol concert, "Together at Christmas," which took place last week at Westminster Abbey. The Princess of Wales pulled out all the stops for the holiday service, even teasing the event with a perfectly festive clip on Instagram last month, featuring a cursive “C” monogram, snowflakes and a hint of regal holiday magic.
During the event, Middleton let fans in on a sweet family moment involving her youngest, Prince Louis. She shared how Louis managed to keep the concert’s ballet performance a surprise from his sister Charlotte, who adores ballet.
“Louis knew about the dancers and was talking about them over tea,” Catherine told Sky News. “He said, ‘What’s the secret?’ I said, ‘Louis, can you keep a secret? Because I want it to be a surprise for Charlotte.’”
Spoiler: He totally nailed it. “He said, ‘Promise! Promise I won’t say anything.’ And he’s kept the secret,” Catherine revealed.
