Things are on the up and up when it comes to Princess Anne’s heath.

After visiting the princess in the hospital on Tuesday, June 25, Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence, her husband of 31 years, gave journalists an update on how his wife is doing.

“She’s fine. Slow but sure,” he said in footage shared to X (formally Twitter) by ITV royal editor Chris Ship.

Sir Tim Laurence, who was toting a blue lunch bag as he left the hospital, also revealed that he brought his wife some treats from home after being asked if he brought her lunch.

The update comes after news broke that Princess Anne had been hospitalized after an incident that occurred over the weekend on the Gatcombe Park estate, where she resides with her family.

On Monday, Buckingham Palace released an official statement.

“The Princess Royal has sustained minor injuries and concussion following an incident on the Gatcombe Park estate yesterday evening. Her Royal Highness remains in Southmead Hospital, Bristol, as a precautionary measure for observation and is expected to make a full and swift recovery.”

Since the incident, Princess Anne has had to miss some scheduled engagements, with Buckingham Palace stating, “On doctors’ advice, Her Royal Highness’s engagements for the week ahead will be postponed. Her Royal Highness sends her apologies to any who may be inconvenienced or disappointed as a result.”

Princess Anne had been taken to the hospital after experiencing a concussion and other minor injuries. Someone familiar with the royal family described the incident as being “consistent with having had intact with the legs or head of a horse.”

It’s been quite the year for the royal family. The 73-year-old royal’s incident is just the latest. In addition, Kate Middleton and King Charles III, Anne’s brother, have both been diagnosed with cancer and have been undergoing treatment.

Needless to say, we’ll be sending good vibes and well wishes for a speedy recovery to the entire royal family.
