*Trigger Warning: Details about Baby Loss Awareness Week ahead*

Prince William is cheering on his home team, just hours after Kate Middleton shared a heartfelt message in support of those affected by baby loss.

On Wednesday, October 16, the Prince of Wales, 42, took to social media to congratulate Thomas Tuchel on his new role as the senior men’s head coach of England’s soccer team.

“Exciting times for @England, with a generation of talented players and a new manager taking the reins,” William wrote on Twitter sharing the announcement from England's official page. “Thomas, wishing you the best of luck, we’re all behind you! W.” The use of his personal initial "W" indicates that he wrote the message himself.

The congratulatory message came less than 24 hours after Princess Catherine, 42, shared a powerful message for Baby Loss Awareness Week, which ran from October 9-15. The week is dedicated to offering comfort and community to those who have experienced the loss of a pregnancy or infant.

“Baby Loss Awareness Week is such an important moment to support those who have experienced the devastation of baby loss,” the Princess of Wales wrote alongside a photo of a candle with the signature "Wave of Light" phrase.

She wrapped it up with a message of compassion, adding, “Sending love, strength, and hope to anyone affected. #WaveofLight C.” As with William, she used her own initial.

Middleton also took time to repost messages from organizations working to support families going through this heartbreaking experience. This included posts from the Baby Loss Awareness Week account, as well as Tommy’s, a charity focused on preventing baby loss, and Child Bereavement UK, which helps families who’ve lost a child or are grieving.

The post also comes days after Prince William and Princess Catherine made a surprise visit to Southport, northwest England, on October 10, where they met the bereaved families of three children killed in a knife attack in July. The visit was the first public appearance for Middleton since she finished her chemotherapy treatment.
