Twas' the week before Christmas and all through the land, royal fans were awaiting a holiday card from Prince WilliamKate Middleton and their clan. Okay, so maybe I'm not really a poet. Regardless, that moment finally arrived on Thursday, December 19, when Kensington Palace shared their 2024 Christmas card on social media.

“Wishing everyone a very happy Christmas,” the caption read, accompanied by a festive post featuring animated snowflakes and a glimpse of their holiday greeting.

The card itself was propped open on a wooden surface with a softly blurred Christmas tree in the background. On the left, the message read: “Wishing you a very Happy Christmas and New Year,” while the right side featured a heartwarming photo of the family of five—William, 42, Kate, 42, Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6.

But here’s the detail that stood out: the image wasn’t just any family photo. It was taken earlier this year, during a deeply personal moment for the family, when Kate announced in an intimate video that she had completed chemotherapy treatments.

Despite the challenges they’ve faced, the card radiated warmth and resilience, earning praise and heartfelt comments from fans—and even a like from soccer star David Beckham.

“Been waiting anxiously to see your Christmas card, absolutely beautiful as always. Merry Christmas,” one person wrote. Another added, “Merry Christmas Prince William and Princess Kate. Hope this year brings health and happiness to your family and holds the brightest of futures.” A third chimed in, “Beautiful card and family. Enjoy your precious Christmas after such a trying year.”

Indeed, 2024 has been a challenging year for the family. It began with Kate’s abdominal surgery in January, followed by her cancer diagnosis announcement in March. By September, though, she was easing back into royal duties.

Here's to wishing the royal family a Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy New Year.
