Prince Harry is once again shining a light on a cause close to his heart: the WellChild Awards. In a new video shared on January 28, the Duke of Sussex made a surprise appearance to encourage nominations for the 20th annual awards, which celebrate inspirational children with complex medical needs and those who care for them. And yes, the video seems to have been filmed at his and Meghan Markle’s Montecito home, where he lives with their kids, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

Wearing a classic neutral button-down, the Duke of Sussex, 40, delivered his heartfelt message. “Each year, the WellChild Awards, in association with GSK, recognize and celebrate the growing number of young people with complex medical conditions from across the United Kingdom as well as those who go the extra mile to care for them,” he explained in the clip.

He went on to call the milestone anniversary particularly meaningful, adding, “This year is especially significant as we celebrate the 20th WellChild Awards. It is a true privilege to honor the bravery and compassion of this incredible community.”

As WellChild’s patron since 2007, Prince Harry has consistently championed its mission to help children with health challenges receive care at home instead of in hospitals. Just last October, he attended the awards ceremony in London, delivering an emotional speech that not only highlighted the resilience of these kids and their caregivers but also touched on his own parenting experience.

“As a parent, I know a little about the emotional rollercoaster of parenting,” Prince Harry shared at the time, adding, “When I hear about the care many of you mums, dads, and family members provide…the level of round-the-clock care you offer…the battles for support that you fight every single day, I am truly in awe.”
