Nicole Kidman was fully committed to her all-new role in Hulu’s Nine Perfect Strangers—so much so that she stayed in character throughout the entire shoot. (Yes, you read that right.)
During a recent panel, the 54-year-old actress shared rare details about the highly anticipated series, which is based on the best-selling book by Big Little Lies author Liane Moriarty. While discussing her role of Masha, Kidman revealed that she was extremely dedicated to scene study. She even quoted the character, claiming she was “bats**t crazy” during production.
“I’d only respond as Masha,” Kidman said, according to Deadline. “I wanted a very calm healing energy to emanate all the time, so I remember going over to people and sort of putting my hand on their heart, holding their hand, they would talk to me or use my name Nicole when I would completely ignore them.”
The Undoing star continued, “The only way I could actually relate to people was that way because I felt like, otherwise, I would be doing a performance. And I didn’t want to feel that way.”
