Gwyneth Paltrow and Meghan Markle Shut Down Feud Rumors with Surprise Video (But I Can't Stop Thinking About This One Thing)

Um, what is that?

Over the years, Meghan Markle has been at the center of plenty of rumored feuds—including one with actress and lifestyle mogul Gwyneth Paltrow. But instead of letting the gossip swirl, the two A-listers shut it down in the most unexpected way: by posting a joint video on Instagram. The playful moment happened during a Q&A session on Paltrow’s Instagram Stories yesterday when a fan bluntly asked, “Are you comprehending the Meghan Markle beef that social media says you two have?” Their response was a perfectly timed clapback that left no room for doubt.

The video appeared on Paltrow's account during a Q&A session on her Instagram Stories, when one curious fan asked, “Are you comprehending the Meghan Markle beef that social media says you two have?”

The Goop founder didn’t hesitate in her response, clearly baffled by the question. "I genuinely do not understand this at all, whatsoever,” Paltrow said, before turning the camera to reveal none other than Markle herself sitting next to her. Paltrow then asked Markle, “Do you understand this?” Meghan’s reaction? A playful shrug followed by a soft laugh.

Social media users first speculated about a "beef" between the two stars after Paltrow shared a video on March 23, where she is seen making breakfast in her pajamas, dancing around the kitchen and looking effortlessly casual. The clip, set to Natalie Cole’s “This Will Be (An Everlasting Love),” features a song commonly used in Markle’s Netflix series, sparking rumors of a veiled dig. While some fans praised Paltrow’s authenticity, others saw it as unnecessary shade aimed at Meghan.

However, as Meghan and Gwyneth just proved, they're totally chill with one another and put the "feud" rumors to bed in a matter of seconds. But here’s the real question I had after watching the clip: What exactly was Meghan eating?

While Gwyneth responded to the question, Meghan casually took a bite of what looked like a delicious pie. Based on the brief shot, I'm going to say it looked like apple pie (my personal fave, by the way) but who can say for sure? Perhaps we’ll get more insight into this pie mystery—and maybe even the recipe—on Meghan's Netflix show, With Love, Meghan, which was already renewed for season two. Fingers crossed!

While we may not have a pie recipe just yet, one thing’s clear: there’s no bad blood between the two women. In fact, Paltrow has even weighed in on whether she sees Meghan’s new lifestyle brand, As Ever, as competition. “I was raised to see other women as friends, not foes,” Paltrow told Vanity Fair, adding that she believes there’s “always more than enough to go around.” She also emphasized that “another woman is never your competition.”

Paltrow went on to clarify that while she and Meghan live in the same Montecito neighborhood, she doesn’t know the couple personally. “I don’t know Meghan and Harry,” she shared. “I mean, I’ve met Meghan, who seems really lovely, but I don’t know her at all. Maybe I’ll try to get through their security detail and bring them a pie.”

So, maybe that's where the pie came from?
