King Charles Celebrates Kate Middleton’s Bday with Sweet Post (But I Noticed Something Different Than Last Year)

Happy Birthday to Kate Middleton. The Princess of Wales officially turned 43 on Thursday, January 9 and the love is pouring in from all directions—including some sweet shoutouts from her royal in-laws.

King Charles, 76, and Queen Camilla, 77, were quick to kick things off on social media. Taking to Instagram Stories, the duo shared a picture of Middleton from the royal family’s Christmas Day outing to church at Sandringham. In the snap, she’s all smiles in a gorgeous green coat and matching hat, holding an armful of bouquets. Alongside the photo, the king and queen wrote, “Happy Birthday to The Princess of Wales!” complete with a cake emoji.

But let’s talk about the subtle switch-up here.

Last year, Princess Catherine got a full-on grid post for her birthday. This year? An IG Story that disappears in 24 hours. Is it a big deal? Probably not, but I did notice. Nonetheless, it’s the thought that counts and they chose a gorgeous photo of the princess.

Of course, Middleton's in-laws weren't the only ones to send birthday wishes her way. Prince William, 42, was giving #relationshipgoals with a heartfelt tribute from himself and their three children, Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6.

Alongside a stunning black-and-white photo of Middleton shared to Instagram, Will wrote, “To the most incredible wife and mother. The strength you’ve shown over the last year has been remarkable. George, Charlotte, Louis, and I are so proud of you. Happy Birthday, Catherine. We love you." He signed off with his signature "W."

Naturally, the comments were overflowing with love. One fan gushed, "Such a lovely message and picture. A very happy birthday." Another added, "This is so beautiful Princess never forget 'We are all behind you,'" while a third commented, "Beautiful inside and out. Happy birthday."

Here’s to another trip around the sun for Princess Catherine.
