They say like father, like son, but in this case, it's more like great-grandfather, like great-grandson.

In a new video clip released by Buckingham Palace, we got a peek into some serious royal wardrobe recycling: King Charles rocked the same garments as his great-grandfather, George V. The video takes us on a visual journey, zooming in on a portrait of the late king while a narrator spills the deets on the shared fashion pieces.

“Earlier today, The King attended the State Opening of Parliament. He wore the Robe of State seen here in a portrait of his great-grandfather, George V,” the caption spills.

The video narrator also dished that the King of England sported the Imperial State Crown, just like his great-granddad George V in that iconic portrait hanging in the Blue Drawing Room of Buckingham Palace.

His Royal Highness King Charles, 75, and Queen Camilla, 77, hopped into a carriage and made their way from Buckingham Palace to the Palace of Westminster on Wednesday morning for the State Opening of Parliament AKA the official kick-off for the new government’s work. And in true royal fashion, King Charles delivered the speech from the Sovereign’s Throne.

Not only did the day mark the beginning of work, it was also Queen Camilla’s birthday. Buckingham Palace made sure to celebrate by posting a stunning pic on social media. In the snap, Queen Camilla is rocking a green floral dress and beaming as she greets well-wishers.

The Instagram Story post came with a sweet birthday message, “Wishing Her Majesty the queen a very happy birthday today!”—complete with a birthday cake emoji, of course.

King Charles and Queen Camilla have a busy season ahead of them. On July 15, Buckingham Palace announced the couple will be going on a royal tour this fall.

Their Majesties will be hitting Australia in October for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) 2024. They'll be making stops in the Australian Capital Territory and New South Wales, thanks to a special invite from the Aussie government.

Then, they’ll head to Samoa to celebrate the tight bond between the Pacific Island nation and the U.K. Can’t wait to see all the royal action Down Under and in the Pacific!
