We loved seeing the Prince and Princess of Wales bring their two eldest kids to the final day of Wimbledon. However, if there was one thing that was sorely missing, it was Prince Louis and his silly expressions.

For day fourteen of the Wimbledon championships, Prince William, 41, and Princess Catherine, 41, brought along Prince George, 9, and Princess Charlotte, 8. But while Prince Louis, 5, was missing, there seemed to be a good reason for this. And to make things better, his mom gave him a subtle shoutout earlier in the weekend.

Per Hello! magazine, the Princess of Wales confessed that her 5-year-old was “very upset” he couldn't attend the Wimbledon final with his older siblings.

As noted by the publication, young kids are not permitted to watch the game from the Royal Box unless they are members of the royal family. This was Princess Charlotte's first year attending the sporting event, while Prince George attended for the first time last year. So, we'd guess that Will and Kate are waiting until Louis is old enough to quietly sit through the match (and it's no secret that, right now, he loves to grab everyone's attention at public events).

Still, as Princess Catherine told Ella Ottaway (AKA the Children, Young People and Families Coordinator at the All England Lawn Tennis Club), “[Prince Louis was] very upset he wasn't coming today.” And according to a ball boy for the court, the young royal is already invested in the game. “[Louis] tries to practice standing and staying serious like us,” said 16-year-old ball boy Joel.

Of course, Princess Catherine, being the thoughtful mother she is, wanted her youngest to know that she was still thinking of him. So, at the women's singles final the day prior, the Princess of Wales sported a special pair of pearl cluster earrings, the same ones that she wore to Prince Louis's christening in 2018. According to GB News, this is the only other time Princess Catherine has worn the earrings in public since the christening.

But better yet, the outlet also noted that as the Princess of Wales went to take her seat that day, she waved directly to a TV camera (likely to her son, Prince Louis).

You'll be at these matches soon enough, Prince Louis. We'll be excitedly awaiting that day.
