Will Kate Middleton’s Next Appearance Be at Wimbledon? Here’s What We Know

Just weeks after Kate Middleton pleasantly surprised royal fans with her appearance at Trooping the Colour, another engagement may have the Princess of Wales out and about again soon.

The public outing in question is this year’s Wimbledon, which began on June 24 and runs through July 14. According to E! News, Middleton’s RSVP for the tennis tournament was marked TBD, giving many hope that she’ll show up at the outing.

“We’re hopeful that the Princess of Wales will be able to present the trophies as the Club’s patron, but her health and recovery is the priority,” Chair of the All England Club Debbie Jevans recently told The Telegraph. “We don’t know what we don’t know. All we’ve said is that we’ll work with her and give her as much flexibility as possible."

Middleton has been notably missing from the public eye since undergoing an unannounced abdominal surgery and revealing her cancer diagnosis earlier this year. However, in June, just one day before Trooping the Colour, she shared that she would be in attendance at the event. She also shared a major health update.

The mom-of three began by thanking everyone for their “kind messages” which she says helped her and Prince William “through some of the harder times.”

“I am making good progress, but as anyone going through chemotherapy will know, there are good days and bad days,” she explained. “On those bad days you feel weak, tired and you have to give in to your body resting. But on the good days, when you feel stronger, you want to make the most of feeling well.”

Middleton also noted that her treatment is “ongoing and will be for a few more months,” but when she’s able to to it, “it is a joy to engage with school life, spend personal time on the things that give me energy and positivity, as well as starting to do a little work from home.”

In addition to attending the Trooping of Colour, the Princess of Wales said she hopes “to join a few public engagements over the summer.”
