What Is Hilary Duff’s Net Worth? Here’s What We Know

Hilary Duff is certainly one of the hardest working actresses in the business.

After teaming up with the house of mouse, the former teen idol landed a number of leading roles and made several TV appearances (remember Gossip Girl?!), all while pursuing her music, writing a YA trilogy and juggling different partnerships. Fast-forward to the present day, and the Younger star leads the Hulu spin-off of How I Met Your Mother. Plus, she’s “optimistic” about a future Lizzie McGuire reboot.

These achievements have definitely grown Hilary Duff’s net worth of $25 million. But we want to know: How exactly did she do it? Read on for more details.

Hilary Duff Spills the Deets on Three Major Projects She Has in the Works

1. What Is Hilary Duff’s Net Worth?

Thanks to her shows, movies, music career and business ventures, the actress is currently worth $25 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth.

2. How Much Did She Make from the Lizzie McGuire Franchise?

Celebrity Net Worth estimates that Hilary earned $15,000 per episode of Lizzie McGuire, which adds up to roughly $1 million for the entire series—but the show’s success didn’t end there. Disney decided to capitalize on its popularity by launching merchandise like clothes, dolls and video games which, according to Fortune, grossed nearly $100 million (!!!) in revenue. Oh, and Duff earned an additional $1 million for her dual role in the 2003 film, The Lizzie McGuire Movie.

3. How Much Did She Make from Her Movies?

It’s not as much as the Lizzie McGuire franchise, but Duff earned a pretty penny from her films. According to Celebrity Net Worth, she earned $500,000 for Agent Cody Banks, $1 million for Cheaper by the Dozen and $2 million for the sequel. Duff also raked in roughly $2 million each for A Cinderella Story, Raise Your Voice, The Perfect Man and Material Girls.

4. How Much Did She Make from Her Music Career?

At the height of her fame, Duff ventured into music and gave us awesome bops like "So Yesterday" and "Come Clean." After releasing her debut Christmas-themed album in 2002, she released Metamorphosis in the following year, which sold more than five million copies.

Duff then released three more studio albums with Hollywood Records, Hilary Duff, Most Wanted and Dignity, before taking an eight-year hiatus. And when she made her return in 2015, she released Breathe In. Breathe Out., which debuted at number five on the U.S. Billboard 200.

5. What About Her Books?

Emmy-nominated writer Elise Allen and Duff published a young adult novel named Elixir in 2010, which is now officially a New York Times best-seller. Because of the first book’s success, the duo also released two sequels: Devoted in 2011 and True in 2013—but these aren't the only books that Duff worked on.

In 2020, she released her first children's book, My Brave Little Girl, which was inspired by her daughter Banks. While speaking with People, she said, "I remember coming home from work around midnight...Tired and emotional, I held my daughter and remembered the many ways I watched my mother be brave and was encouraged to do the same."

6. Does She Make Money from Her Fashion Lines?

The entrepreneur launched her first ever clothing line in 2004, called Stuff by Hilary Duff. And for three years, the brand was available in stores around the globe, including the U.S., Australia and Canada. But after she lost full control of the brand, she switched gears and decided to focus on multifunctional clothes for girls her own age. So in 2009, she created Femme for DKNY Jeans, a fashion line that only ran for a limited time.

Additionally, Duff worked with GlassesUSA to launch an eyewear line called the "Muse x Hilary Duff" collection, and most recently, she partnered with Smash + Tees to launch her own collection of cozy rompers for moms and their kids. According to People, her designs were selling at record speed. Duff said, “This collaboration was a dream come true. I love fashion, but I also love to be comfortable because I'm a busy mom.”

Keep the momentum going, Hilary!
