The holidays are behind us, which means one thing: award season is here. It’s that magical time of year when Hollywood’s finest—actors, musicians and creatives—get recognized for their incredible work. But let’s be honest, it’s also about the fashion. The 2025 Golden Globes kicked things off in style on Sunday, January 5, and one trend shone brighter than the rest: gold.

It seems like every star who graced the red carpet got the same memo: if it’s the Golden Globes, why not wear gold?

Mindy Kaling, one of the evening’s presenters, stole the show in a strapless, floor-length, shimmery gold gown by Ashi Studio. She accessorized with chandelier earrings, several rings and sleek, straight hair with a chic side part.

Cate Blanchett, nominated for Best Actress in a Limited Series for her role in Apple TV’s Disclaimer, looked radiant in a metallic Louis Vuitton gown that practically screamed “golden goddess.”

The trend didn’t stop there. Host Nikki Glaser turned heads in a deep golden-brown Atelier Prabal Gurung gown, paired with old-Hollywood waves. Actress Eiza González also brought the sparkle in a backless, sleeveless, gold sequined dress, rocking loose waves and a sultry side part.

Joining the golden lineup was Deirdre O’Connell, who opted for a sleek gold suit with a black cami, and director/writer Lucia Aniello, who dazzled in a yellow-gold spaghetti-strap gown.

So, there you have it: the unofficial official color of the 2025 Golden Globes is—you guessed it—gold. Award season has officially begun and I can’t wait to see what other jaw-dropping looks are in store.
