Céline Dion’s love for her late husband René Angélil truly does go on.

On Tuesday, December 17, the 56-year-old singer marked what would have been their 30th wedding anniversary with a heartfelt Instagram tribute and a beautiful black-and-white photo from their 1994 wedding.

The tribute included a breathtaking snapshot from their wedding at Montréal’s Notre-Dame Basilica. In the image, Dion gently cradles Angélil’s face in her hands while he holds her waist, the couple sharing a tender, timeless gaze.

“You still fill our hearts, every day. You are everything for us. We miss you so much,” Dion wrote. She ended the emotional message with, “Happy 30th anniversary, mon amour,” signing on behalf of herself and their three children, René-Charles, 23, and 14-year-old twins, Nelson and Eddy.

Dion and Angélil's story began in 1980, when a 12-year-old Dion auditioned for him. Angélil became her mentor and manager, helping launch her career. After seven years of working together, their professional relationship turned romantic, and they began dating in 1987 when Dion was 19.

On December 17, 1994, the couple tied the knot in a lavish ceremony that was broadcast live across Canada. Over the years, their relationship withstood the pressures of stardom and the challenges of Angélil’s health. Angélil passed away from throat cancer in January 2016 at age 73.

Reflecting on their relationship in April 2024, Dion told Vogue, “I still feel his presence so much. [Our wedding] is a moment that will be with me for the rest of my life.”

She added, “The dress couldn’t have been big enough. I could’ve had six different dresses that night because he was—and still is—such a wonderful human being. He brought out the best in me.”
