Céline Dion Just Made Her First Public Appearance Since the Olympics—and I Couldn’t Help But Notice Her Style Choice

That's why Dion’s surprise appearance at City of Hope’s Spirit of Life gala is such a big deal.

On Tuesday, October 22, the “My Heart Will Go On” songstress made an unexpected appearance to present the Spirit of Life Award to Jay Marciano, chairman and CEO of AEG Presents. The honor, given by the cancer center, celebrates industry leaders for their community contributions. This marked Dion’s first public event since she was spotted at the 2024 Paris Olympics Opening Ceremony and she even gave a nod to that moment during her speech.

"I'm so honored to be here tonight, to be part of this wonderful and important evening," Dion said, per E! News, before playfully adding, "This is the first time I've been on a stage since I was up on that tower," referencing her iconic Eiffel Tower performance.

But let’s talk fashion for a second, because Dion didn’t just show up—she slayed in an all-black outfit. She rocked a sleek black dress with shimmering fishnet details across the chest and arms, a chic bun and a smokey eye that was pure glam. And can we just acknowledge that Dion loves a monochromatic black moment?

In June, she made a rare public appearance with her twin sons, and guess what? She was rocking yet another black ensemble.

Dion's love for the look isn’t new, either. Throwback to August when she posted a pic from her Let’s Talk About Love World Tour, which took place in the ‘90s, and she’s totally serving in black capri pants paired with—you guessed it—a black crop top.
