Britney Spears just gave a shoutout to Blake Lively for rocking her iconic 2002 Versace dress recently—and she did it in the most Britney way ever.

Spears, 42, took to Instagram over the weekend to show off her own “updated version” of the legendary dress that featured skinny straps, side cutouts and a much shorter hemline. In the video clip, she models the mini dress for the camera shuffling forward, back and side-to-side in her typical fashion. The post was set to “Your Love” by the Outfield.

According to People, the pop icon’s original caption read, “UPDATED VERSION OF MY 2002 VERSACE DRESS 👗 !!! I LIKE IT WAY BETTER SHOWS MY LEGS !!” She later tweaked it to shoutout Blake: “I’m no @blakelively but I like it,” the outlet adds—though currently there is no caption.

Earlier this month, Lively rocked the stunning, sparkling gown to the It Ends With Us premiere in New York City. The dazzling off-the-shoulder number had a floral print with bright pinks, yellows and blues. Blake completed the look with colorful earrings and silver sky-high heels.

The A Simple Favor actress shared her excitement with People at the premiere, calling the dress “museum-worthy” and saying, “I feel so lucky!” She also gave Spears a sweet nod on her Instagram Story, posting a throwback pic of the pop star and captioning it, “Today’s mood. The ultimate queen who made us all want to sparkle and share our stories.”

Lively added, “Britney, you’ve inspired us millennials with your strength and joy. Thanks for showing us how to shine.”

Lively bringing the dress out of the archives also sparked some chatter about her potential to play Spears in the upcoming biopic based on the singer’s memoir, The Woman in Me. However, the Gossip Girl alum shut it down.

"I shouldn’t be hired for that but I would love to be," Lively confessed to Entertainment Tonight.
