So, Adele fans, brace yourselves: Our queen is taking a break from making new music.

Yep, you read that right. In a candid chat with Germany's ZDF, the 36-year-old songstress revealed, "I don’t have any plans for new music at all." She went on to say, "I want a big break after this and I think I want to do other creative things, just for a little while."

Even though she’s been slaying her two-year-long Las Vegas residency, Adele admitted that fame isn't her favorite thing. "I don’t like being famous," she confessed. "I love that I get to make music all the time."

Adele has dropped four iconic albums and cemented herself as one of the best-selling artists of our time. Her debut album, 19, came out in 2008 and quickly went double platinum in the U.S. By the next year, she snagged Grammy awards for Best New Artist and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.

Then, 2011 brought us the masterpiece that is 21, and Adele made history by winning six Grammys in one night in 2012. She kept the hits coming with 25 in 2015 and 30 in 2021, amassing a total of 16 Grammy awards so far.

Before Adele embarks on her “big break,” she has to wrap up her “Weekends with Adele” show. Due to some shows being postponed in March, it will now finish up this November, which will give fans plenty of time to catch the cheeky singer in action.

Here’s to hoping she doesn’t have any more wardrobe snafus like she did last month. After the “Rumor Has It” singer put on shapewear that was a little too snug before her performance in June, she had the crowd in stitches as she joked about her real-life fear of her circulation potentially being cut off.

“So, if I pass out halfway through the show, don’t worry—that is why,” she quipped.
