For 2023, Viva Magenta was crowned the Color of the Year. And in 2022, it was Aegean Teal. As we count down the days to 2024, Pantone has finally revealed their color for the new year, and it’s none other than…Peach Fuzz!

Choosing a color that has been associated with both warmth and elegance, Pantone’s Color of the Year already has us thinking of ways to incorporate it into our wardrobe, like with this Orange Midi Dress With Keyhole Rhinestone Embellishment ($410), Orange Cutout Shirt Dress ($378) or Orange Sequined Cropped Top ($221) paired with the Orange Sequined Midi Skirt With Feathers ($567).

In a statement, Leatrice Eiseman, the executive director of Pantone Color Institute, shared why Peach Fuzz was chosen as the official color for 2024. “In seeking a hue that echoes our innate yearning for closeness and connection, we chose a color radiant with warmth and modern elegance,” she explained. “A shade that resonates with compassion, offers a tactile embrace, and effortlessly bridges the youthful with the timeless.”

According to the official Pantone website, Peach Fuzz is a shade that shows “our desire to nurture ourselves and others.” Described as a “velvety gentle peach tone,” it is a color that has an “all-embracing spirit” that also “enriches mind, body, and soul.” And once again, Pantone teamed with Spoonflower to offer fab wallpaper options in the latest color of the year.

As we mentioned, Viva Magenta was chosen as the color of 2023. With its bold and vibrant shade, the color is known for being “brave” and “fearless.” In a statement shared on the Pantone website, Eiseman explained, “In this age of technology, we look to draw inspiration from nature and what is real. Viva Magenta descends from the red family, and is inspired by the red of cochineal, one of the most precious dyes belonging to the natural dye family as well as one of the strongest and brightest the world has known.”

She continued, “Rooted in the primordial, Viva Magenta reconnects us to original matter. Invoking the forces of nature, Viva Magenta galvanizes our spirit, helping us to build our inner strength.”

Here’s to a year full of that warmth and radiance Pantone keeps talking about.
