The Easiest, Non-Gross Way to Unclog a Toilet

No plunging involved

We like talking about fashion…and art…and what to do with your hands in photos. We do not like talking about clogged toilets.

So we’ll keep this brief. Here’s what to do the next time the toilet is just not flushing and you’re totally grossed out by the thought of breaking out the plunger...or you don't have one on hand.

What you need: Baking soda and white vinegar.

How to unclog a toilet without a plunger: Dump 1/2 cup of baking soda into the toilet drain. Follow that up with 1/2 cup of white vinegar and flush as soon as it begins bubbling.

How it works: The fizz breaks up and pushes through the clog without harming your pipes like harsh drain cleaners. You may need to follow up with a few extra courtesy flushes, but with mild clogs, one treatment really should do it.
